I am on the leak and just received/downloaded a new update that was pushed to my phone. It is named Blur_Verizon.98.72.8.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip. I saved it to my sd and am in process of getting it uploaded. It is a 38.27mb file


I am now on system version 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US

Restored Root... Good to go!

If it's failing when verifying the files of the update, its probably a bad zip file or something. If its failing verifying system files, probably a bad install or missing files.

I got past verifying files, but it fails when looking for gmail. I have gmail installed but its obviously looking for a different version or something. Trying the unbrick utilty to start fresh.

Negative, bone stock JB aside from root.

I did NOT go back to stock, did a temp unroot, took the update, reinstalled root no problem!!!!!!!

But I also have no apps frozen and stock recovery. I was only using Root to control a few apps..

My update installed and got root back using voodoo flawlessly. I assume that I cannot go back to my Aviator room now?

I'm getting the following: Verifying current system...assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/ChromeWithBrowser.apk") Installation aborted. Not sure what the problem is with that, I do have the Chrome Beta installed, maybe I have to uninstall that first?

I ran into similar with gmail, even though I had gmail installed from the app store. I had to use the unbrick utility, reinstall the leak from Xmas, and now my update is currently installing. I guess when they mean stock they mean stock. it doesn't like any updated or different app versions, apparently. you could try a factory reset first...

Just catching up on the OTA....someone noticed that the kernel numbers did not change, so Aviator and all the roms should probably work.....still trying to verify

its still 3.0.8 but the numbers/letters after it are different from the leak...at least on my phone anyway.

Jay rod are you looking at the patch or the ota?

Also noticed this is STILL the 3.0.8 kernel. Interadasting. This may be the same deal as the Christmas leak. So if anyone chooses not to jump the gun, once we put together a boot.img from this OTA, you would in theory (if you wanted to) still be able to dual boot.

HA. yeah I guess so. not many changes to system. the link darkmiasma posted shows the changelog has alot of application and blur/google app changes. maybe that's what they were doing...
Good news is the JB Root Method still works. I had issues with the update so I had to use the unbrick utility and start over and in the process forgot voodoo and lost root but got it back.
