Here is a response I got from them, when I inquired if this kit would be available again soon.
"Yes, they definitely will. As soon as we complete our pre-orders we will make the rest of our inventory available for purchase. We just want to make sure that we have enough to fill the initial pre-orders first. We should have an update for everybody by the end of the month. So please just be a little more patient. Thank you for your inquiry and we look forward to assisting you soon."
Oh and by the way, the option to do the kit yourself is still a selectable option on their website so it looks like you "might" not have to send your phone in.

I think I'm going to try and go the way of the FCC complaint. I've paid enough for my damn phone already. Time for them to foot the bill.

Check their site.
They have three options.
1. Send to them and they keep your parts for recycle (right). $14.95
2. Send to them and they send your parts back. $24.95
3. Sign a waiver to hold them harmless, if you botch the job.

The only problem is this does not include a camera upgrade. The maxx has a 13 mgp camera no? While it is almost the same price difference wise, that camera is a huge step up. This should be droid razr battery upgrade kit. Can't rock with it if it doesn't include the camera because the real price difference which they are asking for plus ten bucks, would actually have that cam. Definitely something to think about...

Maxx doesn't have a 13 mp camera, the rumored droid razr hd is supposedly going to have a 13mp camera
