Si, spartak, esto es lo que necesitas usar. Lo del primer aporte solo es para el Razr HD y el Razr Maxx HD.

To Dan, thank you so much. Mil gracias. This worked as of today on my Razr Maxx HD. Hopefully Motorola doesn't find a fix for it too soon.

my day is made  :)

I waited a week since I downloaded to actually do this root, and it took less time than most app installs even! Seriously less than 10 seconds, then a normal reboot - AMAZING! Thanks a ton.

After publishing yesterday's Motorola bootloader unlock tool, I feel bad that some people are running the unrooted 4.1.2 build for Razr HD. Let's fix that.

This exploit will root the Razr HD, Razr Maxx HD, Atrix HD, Photon Q, and Razr M, regardless of what build they're running. While these are the only supported Motorola devices, it will also root lots of other non-Motorola devices...feel free to try it and see. ;-)

But first, I thought I'd reflect a bit on the state of the rooting/modding community and my involvement in it. I published my first Android root exploit almost two years ago for the Droid 3 (it also re-rooted a number of other earlier devices). Since then, I've rooted every major Motorola device that's been released, including the Bionic, Razr (multiple times), Droid 4, Xoom 2, Atrix HD (multiple times), Razr HD, and Razr M. With the release of this exploit, every major Motorola device in existence has a viable public root method, and the most recent models now have an unlocked bootloader.

I see this as the end of an era for Motorola rooting and modding. At this point, it is significantly more difficult to find vulnerabilities that may be used to root Motorola devices than when I started two years ago, due to fixes for the all the bugs used in previous exploits. It has gotten to the point where there may not be a "next time" for publishing a Motorola root exploit. Of course vulnerabilities still exist, but as the pool of bugs shrinks, the number of people capable of finding them grows smaller and the time investment required increases. As a result, I have no plans to continue publishing Motorola root exploits after this release.

I have hopes that the acquisition of Motorola by Google will gradually lead to changes in policy allowing more open devices. If it doesn't, I encourage everyone to speak with your wallets when purchasing your devices: if an unlocked device is important to you, buy an unlocked device instead of expecting someone to accomplish a difficult hack.

The Motochopper exploit is attached to this thread. It may be used as follows:
  • Extract the entire contents of the zip file.

  • If you are using Windows, ensure you have installed the latest Motorola USB drivers available for your phone.

  • Ensure USB Debugging mode is enabled on your device.

  • If you are using Windows, navigate to the extracted directory and execute "run.bat". If you are using Linux or OS X, navigate to the extracted directory in a terminal and execute "./run.sh".

As always, future OTA updates may remove the ability to regain root access, so proceed with caution when updating. Enjoy!

I would like to ask for help with this if it's possible. I have a Razr HD. I was rooted before the last OTA update and forgot to do the "protect root" thing and lost it. Now I've done this new one maybe 5 times. The DOS screen says "successful" but the HD isn't really rooted but appearently Motochopper thinks it is.I tried a factory reset, reloaded drivers on the (Win 7) computer, and did it a couple more times. It continues to say "successful" but it's not, at least none of the root apps think so (titanium, My Backup root, VooDoo, ad blocker, etc). I double checked the debugging, etc but no joy.

I'm not a wiz at this stuff. I know how to follow you smart people's directions and have rooted several phones/tablest in the past and had this one done before the OTA. I sure miss this Razr being rooted and I hope for advice. My main goal is simply freezing/deleting bloatware and ad blocking. If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would be very greatful.

I would use

utility to restore back to out of the box stock then use it to root also. You can use it to unlock your bootloader and install CWM or TWRP if you would like also.

Look in the Razr forum for root info, not the Razr HD. As far as using it on another network, what radios does the other network use? And even if it was possible, it may be illegal now.

No, this is for root only.  You need motoapocalypse for the bootloader unlock.

This only roots your device. motopocalypse exploit is for the boot loader. But I think you can unlock the gsm devices through Motorola.

Moto will only unlock a device that was purchased as a Dev edition and registered as such, so this was your only choice.

I would assume so, but if someone bought a Dev edition, chances are they unlocked it through Moto after they bought it.  I know I did, but I waited a couple weeks before I did to make sure there were no mechanical issues.  I for one would not buy a Dev edition HD at this point.  The only advantage I have is if an OTA comes along with fix of some sort, I have nothing to worry about- but blowing the e-fuse can't be undone, so I have no idea how they could- but I wouldn't rule that out.

NO - Motochopper is the Root exploit for the Razr HD, Razr Maxx HD, Atrix HD, Photon Q, and Razr M

Motoapocalypse is the boot loader Unlock for the Razr HD, Razr Maxx HD, Atrix HD, Photon Q, and Razr M

Let's not get this thread confused - This is the root exploit thread

It fails after install Superuser.apk. I'm pretty familiar with linux but I don't understand why for whatever reason it cannot do the next line of code.  "adb shell /data/local/tmp/pwn"  it fails here and when I try it line by line manually it  gives me a bash error.  Any ideas?
