First you just install rom manager, thats it. Dont open rom manager.
Second, download es file explorer and go to settings and make sure you have the following checked in es.

You could use root explorer to place file in cache folder but need to use es file explorer for the install. Once you check the proper settings open es and push hard back button and you should see the cache folder. Thanks for your reply. But everytime i try to start the .zip over ES File explorer he tells me to activate clockwork mod etc.
edit// and how do i get the .zip file into the cache folder ?
Do i have to use ES File Explorer to do this ?

That could be a bad file/download. Try redownloading.I got it, but now i got the problem that the installation wont work. The install bar is 1/4 full and then there is a warning sign with the android guy xD And then he stops the installation.

I have tried twice know and it just keeps re-loading .173 I downloaded the file re- named the file and copied to my cache folder then used rom manager to extract zip but it doesn't load ics the fiel size is 470,000 kb so I know it's the correct file

This is when you first open esI'm a newbie and I think you will find both root and cache on your SD internal and not the SD-ext try looking at your SD in ES file explorer and you will find it there both root and cache in ES if I remember it will be the second one from the top

I don't know the answer to this but I have been on ICS and fastbooted back it seems to work fine. What is your kernal and I can check mine to see if it is the right one but am pretty sure it is.I'm puzzled about being able to fastboot back to .173 after flashing this. My understanding so far has been that the .fxz fastboot file does not contain a kernel. And I have to assume that the ICS leak contains an updated kernel. So when you fastboot back to .173 is the ICS leak kernel being left behind on the phone?

I renamed the .zip and the .crc file to Blur_Version.6.12.173.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip and Blur_Version.6.12.173.XT912.Verizon.en.US.crc

right around 470,000 kb for the zip and 19 kb for crc
Posted 05 April 2012 - 09:35 AM
Yep that is exactly what I have so I guess fastbooting restores it back correctly.Baseband version: CDMA_N_04.06.00R LTEDC_U_.07.1F.00
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-g6133522 mqr374@nj05lnxdroid05 #2
build number: 6.5.1-167_DHD-14_M2-5

. After u download the torrent files get a torrent download program like u torrent to download the filesThanks for the quick response.
That is the size I expected. When I try to download, all files are 19KB. Which file from the original post is the 470M file? I used Opera to download as a torrent and then I get the error that the file is not available.
Believe or not I am not a noobie (well maybe a little on the Torrent side) - just need to have someone point in correct general direction.
Thanks again.

Why do you have to rename the files?
