Are you able to get into ap fast boot? You said you were running safestrap, had you unlocked your boot loader yet? Dies your battery have a decent charge on it?

Also, give this thread a read, its a similar issue and may help your situation, even if only to get you into fast boot.

The only way I've been able ton succesfully flash a ROM onto the stock slot using safe strap was to make a backup of that ROM in slot 1, then delete slot one and activate the stock slot. Then restore the backup of the ROM from the old slot into the stock slot. I think by doing this (someone, feel free to chime in here if i have this wrong )you retain the kernel. From what I understand, most of our ROMs were built for safe strap and didn't need the kernel included because they ran from the kernel in the stock slot.
Again, if I've got this wrong, please someone correct me. Haha.

Keep us posted if you get your phone running dude! I would consider unlocking your boot loader and using twrp. Save yourself some space!

Can you use Matts Utility in Fastboot? Or is that how you have to use it? Like I said RSD is failing for me.

Maybe, but I wouldn't try to do too many things at once. Your battery only has so much juice left in it. While I applaud the use of rsdlite Matt's 1.10 utility has been the easiest surefire way to get going again in my experience

To use the restore option, yes, you HAVE to be in fast boot. It'll give the instructions when you select option one, before attempting to flash anything.

If your unlocked try twrp or cwm but ss is ten times easier if you don't know what your doing and a safety feature in ss don't allow you to directly flash on stock side but you can restore a backup on stock I recommend you make a backup of stock rom just in case something goes wrong

Safe strap foes work, but you have to see it in a roundabout way is all. If you unlock your boot loader and want to flash a recovery, twrp 2.3.2.3 seems to be doing the trick. It takes a bit of getting used to, but keep reading around and you'll figure it out :-) or send me a pm. There's plenty of guys that have been doing trial and error on the M, and they'll get you hooked up pretty well. (Shane, Brandon, Rik, aixelsyd, to name a few)The RAZR M DST thread has some good info also. My best advice is to read, read, read some more, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Learn as much as you can. This a great friendly community, and its great to have you here. Now, let's get your phone fixed. Lol
