XT926 Powers on into Fastboot

Best Answer johnthehillbilly , 11 May 2013 - 12:46 PM

My XT296 is rooted and unlocked and when I power down my phone and power it back on it goes into fastboot and I have to hold vol up & down and power button to get it to boot up. I tried to flash twrp and got a fastboot flash failure. Now my phone will not power up like it did before flashing twrp and getting a fastboot flash failure. How can this be fixed?

My best recommendation would be to use Matt's utility .... http://www.droidrzr....ux/#entry272317 .... :)

so the only way to fix this fastboot flash failure is to flash stock 4.1.2, then reroot and reflash twrp?

There may be another, easier, way but I don't know it...... I will admit I'm not as up to speed on flashing twrp as maybe I should be but ..... most flash failures are easily fixed with the utility ..... :)
Unless it is a "low battery flash failure"

When it boots into fb, does it state a reason in the Lower left? If you had part of a flash fail on something non critical it may still boot on bptools

Yes, it says fastboot reason: flash failure. I have tried to use Matt's utility and flash back to stock 4.1.2 it won't work. In fastboot it says USB connected but when I try to run option 1 it does nothing but flash a cursor. The script never starts.

Do you have all the current drivers installed on your computer?..... is your battery low? (That will most certainly cause flash failure)...... you said it never starts..... does it just close?.... or does it sit on "waiting for device"?

Are you using windows or Linux script?

Do you have access to windows 7? Or Linux ?...... I know it may sound trite but occasionally / unfortunately the utilities don't play well on XP

Does the Droid Razr HD utility 1.20 work with Windows 8? I am trying to use option 1 to restore my phone and when my phone is in AP fastboot with usb debugging on and my phone connected to the computer I get a 'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file error when I hit enter. I installed the Windows 64bit drivers. What could be causing this error?

Also...... make sure you fully extracted the utility to desktop...... when you run the .bat file ..... right click and run as administrator .......

Reminder: use 2.0 USB port....... 3.0 does not play nice with our RAZRs sometimes

Also try different cable (factory only) and turn off all virus protection software - key for me. Try a different USB port.
