I just looked at my phone which is running the leaked ICS and noticed that update package for 4.0.4 downloaded itself. Has anyone one else received this? I want so bad to install it but afraid I was spammed possibly since it just automatically downloaded itself.

hmm... I would wait to see if more people get this or you can test it out yourself and let us know what happens and if you can fastboot back etc.
let us know what you decide to do

Here is what downloaded. I googled the file and it seems to be a patch to 4.0.4. Was not a regular system update which is why i dont know what is going on. Here is a link to the package from my Box.

Interesting but it almost looks like it is for the g nexus... I wouldn't install it but I sure as hell just downloaded it. Excited to see what it is...

How is this possible with a leak? Sounds fishy...

My guess is they ported this Ics build from the nexus to the RAZR....? Who knows or even sabotage people with the leak! Lol

This is in the updater-script. Also, there are no moto-bloat apps mentioned at all.

When I extracted the file to browse I noticed that there were no moto bloat in any of the app folders. Its weird that this randomly downloaded onto my phone though. I was supposed to be part of the soak this weekend so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I decided not to participate since I like being on ICS a whole lot better.

Well i was trying to dig into it. and I can tell you its NOT from Motorola!!!

All the files from the leaked are signed by Motorola's private key, and this "patch" was not signed by them.

It won't install...its a toro build that's not even signed by Motorola.

By copying the file name, then doing a Google search, I have confirmed that it's the 4.0.4 update for the Galaxy Nexus.

It was confirmed at 2:31 by Matt that it is a Nexus build, he posted it right up there ^^. It seems everyone ignored him for some reason though...

Shameless promotion for Tapatalk v2 on some mobile device

He said that it "appears to be for the Nexus." Also that it was "not signed by Motorola."

Not a confirmation that it was a Nexus.

I usually take Matt's word as pretty solid evidence. More than likely, he knows what he's talking about. Semantics aside, I still would have taken that as a solid confirmation.

Believe me I understand. It's just that there are a lot of people on these forums that will see "it appears to be," and just start messing with stuff. Then there's people crying on the forums and tons of posts about how they messed up their phones. Just figured an actual "this confirms," along with a link would do the job.

You can search on the filename and see that it's the same update that went to the Gnex. But why would someone running the Moto/VZW ICS leak get an OTA download meant for the GNEX? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Well being the merger with Google and moto are taking place anything is possible. Plus most ics rims for GB have ems values and residual values and properties from the gnex builds so with that said it is possible that your MEIN number could still be in the Google database and somehow, slipped to get threw the cracks. Just out curiosity if you can pull your full build prop. Then pm me.
