Go here -

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

and find the device you were on (looks like cdma Bionic) and in that area download the version OS you were on or higher (If you were on ICS 4.0.4 you can go 4.0.4 or 4.1.2, you just can't go backwards like from 4.1.2 to 4.0.4)

Use RSD Lite and flash the FXZ you just downloaded to your phone in APFastboot mode.

If you know anything of the HoB, you could use that as well.

Make sure you have the latest drivers, factory cable and not in a usb3 port.

My backup simply won't load so at the moment I don't have stock. Slot1 is working with a rom. Just have to find a time to go through the process to get stock working again.

Noobish question here, but is this download rooted? Somehow, I goofed my Bionic to the point where I had to fxz back to stock Jelly Bean.  I've been looking all over the net for an easy way to root the thing, but haven't really found anything that doesn't require being on a network or something. One of the methods I found required inputting some stuff into the "Remote Storages" section of the built-in Files app, but it didn't work. If this isn't rooted, is there an easy one-click method out there I haven't been able to find yet?

It is not rooted. This are the stock fastboot files. There is not one click. The only way to root JB is the one posted on this forum. It requires Linux to to it also.

That's what I was afraid of.  My problem with using the method posted here is I don't have a wifi connection at home, I just tether my phone to the computer. Also, like I said about the Files app, when I open the app and tap Remote Storages, I get a screen that says Add Storage at the bottom. I hit it and it asks me to connect to a wifi network, which again I don't at home. I know there isn't a one-click method, yet, but is there a way to make this work without the Files app step? I should mention that the screen that follows after hitting the Add Storage button, my options are to activate wifi, tap the plus button at the bottom right corner to add a network, and setup security. I don't have any fields to enter the information displayed in the tutorial at this link:

Man I don't know. I'm a Razr guy and I don't even have that phone anymore. Haha..

You can try posting in the Bionic root thread. Maybe someone can help...

Unfortunately, due to how the root exploit works, you have to have the WIFI and shared connection. If you happen to have another phone that you can use as a hot spot, you can join your PC and Bionic to that network and the exploit will work (I've tried this). You don't need to access the internet to download anything, you just have to be able to see both devices on the same network for the Remote Storage. The only other thing I could think of is maybe hit up a library or mall and take advantage of a free WIFI.

Careful on the public WiFi suggestion. Most of those block the ability to run scripts cross connection.

yea, but maybe he could get lucky and find one that will let him slip through the cracks! I know that there is no other way to get the root exploit to work.

Using a friends phone for hotspot is the trick.  Most people don't have to look to far to find that option.

Also some hotspots (mall, etc) may not put you on same IP range and some don't allow clients to connect to one another. I had that problem at my job so temporarily turned off that "feature."
