Just brainstorming here but has anyone tried to rsd with the phone in sbf mode or whatever that other option is in the bootloader menu?

To obtain this, I just need to be on .181 stock, yes?
Also: can I downgrade back if I decide to?

Thanks,
|3/<

No you can't downgrade, in the op specifically stating this. not to mention the massive $#!+ storm that has ensued. pay attention

With the .75 file can I downgrade off of it to than receive the real ICS when it releases?

yes, But ONLY .75, not .84/.85

Same here

Look at that! My give-a-damn is busted!
I tend to question things I disbelieve are true. Some people cannot handle that. Sorry if you are one of those people.

Lucky, lucky me. I flashed the 84 build and like a complete retard tried to fb back to 181. As we all know I soft bricked. I got the system back and everything ran great til today. It turned of and would not come back no matter what I tried. So I decided to take it into a Verizon store to and tell them the 181 caused the problem. They said oh yeah that's been happening all week. I will have a new phone in the mail tomorrow. I have learned my lesson on leaks. MSN it's hard bring a crack flasher. At last I'm getting a new phone out of it.

I'm just going to wait then. What are the chances of the real ICS for razr releasing May 17th? (according to "leak" from Verizon)

Sma

rt plan if you ask me. Being an Android freak like I am and having conacts I do I haven't and wont' even mess with these leask. Been there done that and they are more trouble then they are even worth.

As for a release of Official ICS imho I find it very hard to believe it will have by that date. I've been around and had info in the past from my contact on push outs and almost NONE of the leaked info we see online is ever correct very often. 2 example would be the GB rollout for the Dorid X I called right on Droid life called a date it was releasing and the day is wa suppose to VZW rejected it so it wasn't even close to being right, and the Gnex release I called within 3 days of actual release. And for all the BS that went around for wks and months all the major sites were dead wrong. Reality is it will hit when VZW approves it. Once approved it is normally another 2+wks before it is actually rolled out via OTA

Seems like this thread should be closed. A lot of people who are totally clueless are still deciding that installing .84/.85 sounds like a good idea.

For some it may not be so bad.....the new bootloader is gonna come with the ota anyway why else would it be on the last two leaks? So gb will be gone for anyone's phone who ota the ics. Once we have the fastboot files for ics we can get back on track.....and ill be honest...I love. 84 granted even though i flash stuff everytime i can i wouldn't have if i would have known about going back...
.but for the first time since getting my razr i have 4g.....cant tell if it is related to the new kernel or not.....but never had 4g on gb before......weird lol anyway im not endorsing flashing this....do it at your own risk. And stop reading just the last few posts! Read the thread to answer simple questions.

We are not sure that this bl version will be the same as the OTA. It might be, and it might not be. At this point that's all speculation.

And IF it's possible to piggyback an OTA on a forced 181 system, then we may be able to update the BL in recovery anyway (since it'll obviously be included in the update pkg)

Some good may come of this after all...

It's not yet but it will be if we get fastboot files compatible with 0A.74

But the bootloader isn't the problem, the old bootloaders flash just fine, it's just that the partition table isn't compatible with GB's.

Unless some people arent sure what bootloader they really have, its really weird some claimed a diff one than 74.....i dont see have people cant get diff bl from the same file (84) i mean....it should flash the same to everyone's phone who flashed it.

Agreed...u would think rsd could overwrite the new bl with the old one.....the rom did so why not? But in layman's terms new bl means bye bye gb...

Interesting. I thought it was the bootloaders were incompatible with our fastboot files. Is the engineering build posted to XDA of any use to us?

I'm not looking for layman's. I can literally go back and manually flash an old BL. The fail during RSD is on two files related to partitioning and the locations of data, basically. ICS's update changed the size of chunks of data and we can't put it back.

Absolutely not; in that case it IS the locked bootloader, because those are signed with "test-keys" and not "release-keys".

The bootloader is the issue. No those engineer files will not do anything without a developer edition RAZR.

cdt.bin isn't related to the bootloader, so I don't see how the bootloader is the issue, especially since I can go and flash a previous one without a problem...unless you're talking about the use of the developer fastboot files?

+999 The last 2 days i have read from devs, that seemed they know what they are talkin about, that it is the bootloaders.

But we are not putting something back, we are overwriting it altogether.

i'm losing track of what is causing what to error. most of it's just hearsay anyway bc im totally sittin' pretty on 84 with no intent to f%$k up my phone. flashed it without thinking, saw people started taking the train to bricktown, then called it right then and there. I said "sweetie, want a new phone? you can have MINE" lol

Curious.... how do u flash a bl only? A flash should overwrite correct? Say flash o6a bl and then rsd without issue.....if the bl is partitioning diff than a gb bl then the bl is the problem.
