Does anybody know the differences in 84 and 85 leak?

I started a thread to this end... no real resolution so everyone is so far basically stuck on whatever they flashed initially. So... yeah no one knows first-hand.

The bootloader is not the issue from what I'm told by a dev. It is the exact same issue we had on the Bionic. the CDT.bin has all the security sets in it as well as parition info and that is the problem.

And it is NOT a given that even getting the official fastboot file of the Official OTA ICS build after it rolls out will get us on track again either. We had the fastboot file of the official Bionic build and still could not get back on track. It took some magic being done by P3 and a few other devs to figure out how to get around it. Boiled down to a mix and match of things if I'm not mistaken to get up back on path. from there we could then use the fastboot file of the Official OTA update again on the Bionic.

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up! I was under the impression that the bootloader was the main issue because it was updated in the newest leaks.

For some it may not be so bad.....the new bootloader is gonna come with the ota anyway why else would it be on the last two leaks? So gb will be gone for anyone's phone who ota the ics. Once we have the fastboot files for ics we can get back on track.....and ill be honest...I love.

that is not a given once ICS gets pushed out.

With the .75 file can I downgrade off of it to than receive the real ICS when it releases?

Yep as long as you only use the *.75 ICS leak you can get back on track to GB so you can take the Official OTA update of ICS once it gets pushed out. If you use either of the new leaks you will be SOL until the devs figure out some type of fix for everyone off path now. And that could be a long time off before we see that happen. Lets hope sooner then later tho. And hopefully with the Bionic problems we had getting off track that will give them some insite on how to get this fixed for ppl. Back on the Bionic is took months to get it all figured out so we could get back on track.

typical Moto fashion is the best i can say. they do these updates all the time on devices tho. Back in my day of getting actual unsecured devices you had to be very very careful on what to use. there was specific bootloaders for each style device whether it was a unsecured ( NS ), partially secured ( SE ) , or full secured ( S ) like consumer units. IMHO sometimes tho I think they do it just to mess with us. Specially these leaked files ppl get off the non talked about app ppl should NOT be using.

If I were to use the .75 leak, could I flash back now? Or only after the official OTA? Also: is the .75 stable for real use?

sure can. The *.75 file does allow us to downgrade back to the GB build. As for OTA once it is offical and hits the public you will have to downgrade back to GB to even get the actual OTA update from VZW/Moto. IE if you decide to install the 75 ICS leak you will NOT be ale to OTA unless you flash back to the current GB build. OTA updates require you do be on path to move forward or they will fail on install.

And yeah 75 is more then stable enough to run right now if you really want to play with ICS on your Razr or Maxx

Weird. I had a similar problem but couldn't connect any calls. Verizon had me dial *something and it fixed it. I'll call big red tomorrow. Strange that g-voice isn't working either. Factory reset the phone and the same problem persists. Could be worse!

Edit: dialed the *71 +Google voice number (again) and it finally works.

solution to what? people figured out a fix for the bricks that were caused. it can't get you back to GB (173/181) but it will get you back to a functioning 84 system

The solution above mentioned by _base2 has been confirmed by nine users at this point. If there is anyone still trying to unbrick their device its probably worth giving it a shot before exchanging or buying a new phone.
