It's amazing how much easier it is to mod than my Razr. I enjoy seeing that unlocked icon on boot and I had no idea that ROM Manager was so useful.

Proper flash method? Last time I checked, getting into CWM was the same thing, regardless of how it was done.

I have yet to put that on my GNex, did you just use ROM Managers flash down at the bottom?

It's all good, I was just throwing it back at you. You're going to love the GNex, especially with your skills.

I'm running on the liquid 1.35 ROM now and it's right up there with eclipse, only 4.0.4

I love the Nexus, ordered it from Google last week, been rocking it all weekend with AOKP and GLaDOS. I will miss my razr, but the Nexus with the savings of being contract free more than makes up for it! The only thing I REALLY miss is the removable storage...

Traitor! Custom kernels do nothing anyway except provide higher benchmark scores!

What about the battery performance on the James Bond kernel?

and what is this? I didn't realize it had a 5ghz Wireless N radio! This keeps getting better.

I've got both devices. I can tell you now the major thing you're going to miss. The battery life! Of coarse I'm on the razor maxx vs the og so that would make a difference. But I'm more then impressed with the Razr... and this is after using the nexus for awhile before I picked up my Razr. Btw... don't look at my signature! I haven't set my Razr backup after the "brick" episode! Lol

Eh, the Nexus has been getting same/better battery life than my regular Razr. Plus now I can have an extra battery so I don't always have to keep my phone charged when flashing, that was main thing I missed when I moved from the DX to Razr.

This is true... I'm sure the of Razr would probably be comparable to the Gnex as far as the battery life.

I think my GNex might actually get less battery performance than my OG Razr. It could just a matter of tweaking though.

I've ordered two of the 3800 NFC batteries with a charger, so that ability is a great change.

The nexus is a great phone man.. don't get me wrong! but I wasn't able to get a full work day out of it on the battery. Of coarse this wasn't with the extended battery either. So I think you'll be good. BTW the razr has wireless N wifi onboard as well. ;) just saying... lol

I loved my gnex as well. But I loved having reception better so I went with razr. Good luck putting up with data drops.

Reception for me is just as good as I had on the Razr, no data drops either. Still on the 4.0.2 radios also, haven't upgraded to the 4.0.4 radios.

Hopefully you will enjoy the device. I've owned almost all of then ( Charge, Bionic, Razr, Gnex, Maxx...etc) and I have to admit out of the bunch besides the unlock and nice screen IMO the Gnex & Bionic is the worse of them. That signal strength on the Gnex is absolutely terrible unless you are in a rock solid LTE area, and battery life is very bad as well because of this problem. I do like the hardware of the Motos much more but it pisses me off to no end the issues we go threw messing with them because of there high horse mentality of locking the bootlaoder. i'm also not very happy with the screen quality that Moto is using still. They really need to get there heads out of the sand and make an upgrade to ALL futures device

Bottom line is everyone has there own taste & needs. Some are very happy with Gnex, other prefers the Motos for signal strength and battery life. So it all boils down to a toss up on what you needs are at the end of the day. And to fix that myself I have one of each ( gnex & Maxx ) so i can change on the fly whenever I want to or need some battery life to make it on a long day out and about.

I'm on the 4.0.4 liquid ROM released the other day and have had zero, signal/data problems. In fact, I got 4G in my surgeon's office today and have always gotten 3G before.I will say that I live in Vegas, which amazing 4G coverage.
