Hey matt instead of doing all of those steps, I realised that all you have to do is side load the. zip in recovery, let it fail. Then go back into recovery and reinstall. It should go over fine.

Please don't bash me, but just so I'm clear...6.14.79 is an even newer version than 6.14.84/.85?

Its never than 6.14.75 and it can be fastbooted back. Shouldn't matter the age compared to those if you get stuck on them.

When you're considering a leak.. there isn't any changelog. You have to do all the testing yourself and feel the difference between roms.

Hey matt.. have you tried Fastbooting from 85 to 181 with your utility (I know it won't work but...) after brute force you can still side load this 79... a way to get us off the 84/85... Whatever happened to "Savior of the Razors"?

I will be trying to go to 81 soft brick and back up to 79 when I get home if Matt or someone else doesn't get to it first. Unfortunately, I don't know what will take precedence, this or Diablo III

When you do that can you post here if fastboot to 181 worked for you?

Crap! A person like me stuck on .84 does not like seeing that lower build number. We want to see higher, that way there still may be hope.:) Higher build gives the possibility of getting out of this hole. Lol
What's the bootloader version of this one?

so is this newer than the .84/.85 ones or was it just lingering around, unreleased, and now just came to light? ive been running .75 for awhile w/ little to no problems (a few times it'll lock up on
incoming calls and keep vibrating), but aside from that it's been pretty stable.

Edit: can you flash back to .181 with RSD lite as well, or do you HAVE to use Droid Razr Util 1.6?

Awesome. Thanks Matt. Currently on 84 but it's good to see another build for users that can still flash around.

Thx for the post dude :)

Hey Matt... question... do you happen to know if logcat works in recovery? Or if anyone can view output while in recovery without uart?

LOL I 'could' find out but I won't don't play the game....

When you do that can you post here if fastboot to 181 worked for you?

I wasn't on the .84 or .85 leak with this phone so going back wouldn't be an issue.

I can't download the CRC file. I click on the link and get a blank page with these numbers on it

That is the crc. Your browser is opening it and not downloading it as a .crc file.

It installed just fine. The lag the first time you open the apps draw went away after only a few minutes of up time. I used RSD to go back and motofails to root. Protected with Vodo and it restored just fine. Think I'll let it settle a bit then see what I can see. But I'm still not putting on Temple Run... Sorry... :D

This is funny. I just flashed .75 and got the terminal to work so I can retain root. Now, I see there is a .79. Hmmm, I might have to try this out. Before I do, I read it but want to make sure as .84/.85 f...ed people up. You can successfully fastboot back to .181 and flash other roms and be on the update path? Didn't the .75 .zip and .crc files had to be in the /system.cashe folder? I did that when I flashed the .75 and could be why I lost root but just making sure. I need to copy to the /cashe folder right? I do know that if I brick or get taken off the update path it is my responsibility and hold no one to it. Not like your holding a droid razr to my throat lol...that's is a joke.....
Thank you
To powerful to fall into my hands. Click......Rooted. ICS rommed!!!!! Muhahahahah!!!!

When you save as, put .crc at the end of the file and it will save the file you need it to do.
