I won't be upgrading then. Just buy the phone outright from the manufacturer.

Well I've been thinking about going to sprint. Guess this will push me over the edge. Unlimited data is the only reason I'm still with Verizon now. Is there some kinda petition we can start and post it on every site that has anything to do with Verizon. Sometimes they seem to work.

This is more acceptable and more logical. I think we can all agree with and accept that, if this is indeed the reality. As per the quote from Verizon's CFO. I still think this is just for current 3G users upgrading to a 4G device.
And before anyone starts mentioning Sprint, they throttle too so it's not unlimited.

Additional info:
Many of you are currently “grandfathered” into unlimited data and cherish that status as if it were your own child, so this move is going to be one that won’t be taken kindly. In the quote above, Shammo does mention that eventually, “everyone” will be on a share, but for now, it seems like just 3G customers who are forced into upgrading to 4G phones. The scariest part is the mention of your next upgrade cycle, which for many of you, isn’t all that far off.
