extended my vacation a few days then got stuck in LA lastnight, flying home in a few, will be updating either tonight or tomorrow. not sure if i will do another CM build, but AOKP is getting updated fo show!

Highlights:

• Gapps integrated
• Aokp Build38
• Data on Boot

AOKP Build 38... I've heard it has Linaro stuff included? Is that actually true, or?

Ive heard of the Linaro toolchain, but i do not believe its been added into Build 38... atleast i dont see any files of the sort or anything in the Aokp changelog. Either way this build is pretty smooth, fast, and battery life is yet to be determined but being Aokp it should be rather good like the past builds ive released imo

Hey andlaw, I read Post #2 and I'm on BW 36 right now. If I'm on Safestrap 1.09, do I need to restore all the way back to 181 before I do this build, or can I do a full wipe and go to 2.0 and then flash 38? I'll do the whole thing as necessary, just don't want to do a bunch of extra steps if there's a shortcut. My unsafe side is stock 181 right now.

Duh - ignore my prior post - I have 181 stock on unsafe, I can run it from there. It took me writing it out to figure out that I already had what I needed. Sorry about that.

this isnt for gingerbread, you have to be on a Moto ICS leak to run this Rom. Post #2 has all the info needed

So far so good but only installed a little bit ago.

Noticed one thing tho. In the OP says Beats Controls was added so I'm assuming Beats Sound is all in there. However in the app drawer there is no Beats Sounds to select only DSP Manager. So using Root Explorer I checked /system/app and there is a BeatsControl.apk as well as DSP Manager.apk So that said not sure what should be in the app drawer and working for our use as it looks like both *.apk exist in /system/app but only one to use in the App drawer

i did include the full beats audio package, in system/app you will see the BEATSControl.apk and DSPManager.apk, but you should only see Beats Control in the app drawer.

yeah thats weird, i flashed it 3x before i uploaded it, got data on boot twice for device setup, but the apps should all be there. also i noticed a few icons look different than the ones found in the ROM, not sure if your running a different home launcher/icon package. ... any other feedback from others would be appreciated?!?

I flashed this morning when I woke up, data on boot. seemed really snappy. Couldn't find any issues. I don't use beats so I didn't notice if it was there or not.

Yeah I had no issues on boot getting data or setting the device up. All seems to be working just fine EXCEPT for this darn Beats Control / DSP Manager thing I've got going on. Doesn't make alot of sense to me either.....lol, no biggie tho I'll relfash and see what I get once I have a chance later on today. Would be nice to see a few other replies tho to see if others are seeing the same thing I am or not.

As for the icons yeah I use Black Exodus theme from Nitroz for use with CM9 or AOKP ROMs I run. And I have a backup of APEX settings and stuff so after a flash I just restore that so I don't have to redo all my screens and what not.

The Beats Control app is a modified DSP Manager. Delete the DSP app from /system/app, should work. Or delete the DSP app from the ROM, then reflash without wiping anything.

Good call that will be faster then reflashing just to see if it does the trick before I test out this other ROM I got sent over to try out by a fellow member here on DR.

Well that did the trick to get Beat Controls showing in the app drawer. Used Root Explorer to rename DSP Manager.apk to *.bak. Rebooted and low and behold Beats was there and working as it should be

the full beats audio package is integrated into the ROM. but if BEATScontrol isnt located in app drawer, use a file manager and goto your system/app dir and add .bak to DSPManager.apk, and you should be good to go. ..
