It is VERY specific to 9.8.79.  If you try to use it on any other version it will cause problems.

I decided to wipe my phone, because it keeps defaulting to fast book whenever I turn it off.....it wouldn't reset, so I took it into a Verizon store and they're sending me a replacement phone....whew....I'll start over again tomorrow....

There was absolutely no need whatsoever to take it to VZW for a warranty replacement.  It was 100% EASILY fixed but it required patience and responding with more information about what failed to flash.  Oh well.

I received replacement phone today, as suggested by VZW rep. I came with 9.16.9, so I rooted and unlocked.  Now, I'm in a much better place...  Sorry for being a bit slow on the uptake here, no offence meant to anyone.

Alright guys and gals...I've had fun trying to support a phone I no longer use, but, I'm sending the phone on to someone who truly needs it.  I think the community will benefit from it but I won't be able to support this phone any more as of now.  I mean I'll do my best to answer questions but I won't be writing any new utils for it going forward.  Good luck to all and it's been a pleasure serving the HD community!!

Ok, I feel like an idiot, but I can't seem to find the script in the original post for downgrading to the previous firmware version.  It is mentioned all through out this post but I don't see the script actually posted anywhere.  What am I missing?

What I am trying to do:  I have the Maxx HD running the latest version 9.18.79.XT926 rooted.  I would like to downgrade due to issues with GPS and bluetooth that appear to have been introduced with the latest update and then either keep root or re-root.  I assume this is possible?  Can someone point me to the instructions or script to accomplish this?  Thanks!

It was found that a complete downgrade was not necessary to accomplish root so the root script was updated to accomplish root only. If someone has the link to the previous version, perhaps they could send it to you in a pm.....

Yea, hang on.  I'll post a universal script that people can use to upgrade, downgrade, or reinstall their current version.  Basically this script will work for just about anything.  BUT there will need to be a change made and I'll document it.  Give me a bit and I'll get it up on the OP for you.  This will replace the downgrade script, as well.

No, it's not necessary. I have a universal script I wrote for someone else that I'll post.  It'll work for downgrade, upgrade, reinstall....

OP has been updated with the universal script and better instructions for using motochopper.  Enjoy!

Yea, it's in the OP.  I updated the motochopper directions, as well cause people were having problems figuring that out. SMH.  But the universal script should be pretty flexible.  Hell, it might even work for the M guys and gals.  It doesn't flash TZ at all, even if using it for an upgrade.  ;)

One thing about root.  Don't use Motochopper 1.1 if you're going back a version.  Use the original motochopper in the motochopper thread.  Otherwise you'll end up with the new boot.img from 79.

First, thanks a lot for this!  Just updated my radios.  Hopefully this will fix some of my connection issues I've had lately.

Secondly, what phone have you moved onto now?

S4 GPE on AT&T month to month.  I just sent my RAZR HD out to another developer.  He'll be getting it in a few days.
