Shell of my utility is created. I just have to fill in the code for each function, test it on my RAZR HD, and then upload it to my host for sharing.  Essentially, this is what I'm writing:

Choose option:

1) Push 9.18.79 update to SDCARD
2) Downgrade to MR2
3) Install ROOT (motochopper)
4) Protect Root
5) Install Update Instructions
6) Restore Root
E) Exit
Please make a selection:

;)

Well, I got my ROOT back but am unable to update binaries as there is no option for that.  I know I had an option to update binaries before with a different Superuser.apk so I am stuck at that step of the directions.  Do I need to try out a different superuser apk?

Can someone give me an md5 from the update?  It's refusing to install from the update I downloaded in the OP.  (Kaos, that's different than the update zip I had previously....I had an MR4 -> 9.18.79 update but not an MR2 one like what's posted in the OP)

I'll download it again and see if it changed.

You want the MD5 of the 9.18.79 update right?

File name - Blur_Version.9.16.6.XT926.Verizon.en.US.zip  - MD5 - E5FBBD40D8922580206239681D91D197

No.  But the file I got from the OP seems wrong.

 e5fbbd40d8922580206239681d91d197

That's the correct hash.  Kaos, please evaluate these two links:

WOW, I don't know what ??  There are some dependencies.  I pulled the hash I gave you from the update I already had on my system.  IF you haven't already, I will update the OP with KaChow's link.

I hadn't updated the OP.  But I'm also in the process of uploading my 700 meg all in wonder utility.  6 easy steps.  More or less.  This is *NOT* House of Bionic level programming here.  It's a script.  You can break it by doing stupid things as I don't do any error checking.  However it automates everything except the manual process of flashing the update in recovery.  Here's the steps it'll take:

1) Push the OTA zip to /storage/sdcard1 (This is hardcoded, if that's not the right path, skip option 1 and put it there manually)

2) Flash the MR2 downgrade in RSD

3) Root

4) Protect Root

5) Instructions on how to boot to recovery and apply the update

6) Restore Root

I automated protecting and restoring root to make it easier.  It's the same process Voodoo uses.  There could be "failure" messages during those steps but as long as you verify that it worked it's all good.  This script isn't a replacement for knowing how to do all this...it's just an automation for the steps to make it a little easier.  Read, read again, and read one more time before doing.  I don't support people who fail to read.  The upload will be done in 30 minutes or so and I'll post the link for people.  I tested it on my unlocked RAZR HD but that doesn't mean much.  I give NO warranty to this utility whatsoever.  Use at your OWN risk.

Does this work on a Maxx HD? Just to be clear on that, and also is the OP all up to date?

Thanks.

Please do.  It should help quite a few people.  Kaos is building and testing an M version of the script, as well, so, he may have something later for the M users in the house.

Ok, I've updated the OP to add the script as the primary link and compressed all the downloads and steps for the sake of keeping the OP clean. Well done guys!

Starting to get some feedback from locked users.

07/24/13 23:01:28  [Device ID: 0] 1/18 flash partition "gpt_main0.bin"
07/24/13 23:01:28  ERROR: 1/18 flash partition "gpt_main0.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL. - on device ID 0.
07/24/13 23:01:28  [Device ID: 0] 1/18 flash partition "gpt_main0.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL.
07/24/13 23:01:28  ERROR: Failed flashing process. - on device ID 0.
07/24/13 23:01:28  Multi upgrade finished.

This is the "secure version" table for Snapdragon Moto phones.  Equivalent to the old OMAP cdt.bin.  Sooooooo, this isn't good.  CZ, any ideas?  I mean we'll have to have someone keep flashing as we remove all the partitions that fail, I assume, and see if it works with what's left.  Correct?

Yes, that is what I would suggest too. I am not surprised the gpt_main0.bin is failing actually, and was surprised that reallbbb didn't mention it.

If it boots with the newer gpt_main0.bin on the older build then we are golden.

All of this seemed to simple to bypass the security to revert, but there have been several successful reports by various means, so we are just missing some detail I think.
