Reboot the PC.  It's got issues that are screwing with RSD.  Also may want to consider a different USB port.

I'm absolutely thrilled that you came up with this, and I appreciate the enormous effort that is behind it. Only 1 teeny-tiny little "complaint" - it takes absolutely forEVER to download from that site. May I have your permission to set up a mirror? I'll post the link here if you agree.

Go for it. Just post the md5 once it's done.

Reboot didn't work either...no clue why. Tried it on a different PC, though, and it works. Thanks for putting this tool together! Hopefully my phone will stop freezing and rebooting itself now. Maybe it was a bad download or something. I think I may just stay on this build instead of trying to update again.

OK I have put the file on Mega.

And using MD5 Checker version 4.0, I came up with This as the MD5

The exclamation is normal.

Boot the phone and use something like root explorer or es file explorer to check your SDCARD.  Option 1 is experimental for a reason.  It hardcodes the SDCARD path so if it's different on your phone it won't copy the OTA zip properly.  In that case you have to put it on your SDCARD manually either with ADB or another means.  Some people just throw it in their dropbox and then on the phone export it from dropbox to your SDCARD.  In any case, you need to make sure it's on the SDCARD and the go back into stock recovery and install it.  Once it's installed use the option to restore root then you're done.  You can also pull the SDCARD and throw it on your computer if you have a card reader for it.

Stuck at step 5. Please help.

Started with step 1 b/c I thought I had recent upgrade which is why I thought I lost my previous root. But step 1 resulted with "C: is not recognized as an internal or external command."

Went to step 2, got nervous b/c it hung at "16/18 Flash System 'system.img'"

Then phone updated.

Step 3 - smooth sailing

Step 4 - ''''''

***Step 5 not so easy. Keep getting the belly up android with red triangle. Then phone reboots again. Instructions say to wait for the Android icon to show up. I am confused about whether it means the M icon or the belly up Android. Either way, I can get past step 5.

So it says above to put it on sd card manually. Maybe that's what I need to do? But what is "it" and where do I find it?

"Manually with ADB"....huh?

Then how do I go back to stock recovery?

Once I learn how to do step 5, do I have to start over?

OK, the belly up android is expected . To get to recovery you may have to vol up vol down several times in a row and it will pop up.

No, that's a common misconception.  I put in the instructions EXACTLY what to do.  When the android icon comes up (yes, that would be the android with an exclamation) you hold volume down and tap volume up to bring up the menu.  Then you use the volume keys to move the selection, and power to select.

Yea I call that the "hope and pray" method.  Keep pounding vol up and down til it randomly works.  LMAO.  But I took the time to figure out EXACTLY how it works so you don't have to do that.  I do say READ EVERYTHING and READ AGAIN for a reason, though.   LOL ;)

I thought was doing it exactly so that's why I got confused about step 5 and couldn't get past it. But I'm rooted and I just want to give it a big hug! If that's what you mean exactly by protect it, lol. Thanks SamuriHL!!!

Hi!
I've just tried to use the script but got an error on step 2. After start flashing get a window with error "Please check input file. Either XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing." What can cause the problem?
TIA

Huh...odd.  Ok, well, open sdl.exe in the rsd directory, press the ... button on the rsd screen, pick the SamuriHL_Downgrade.xml file in the MR2 directory, and flash it manually.  Then continue with step 3.  The automation is simply there to help.  When it gets in the way, do it old school....by hand.  :)

I imported the update to Dropbox then put it on ext card. My phone acted like it took the update but after reboot and reroot I am still running on 98.18.78 XT907. Does anyone have a suggestion please?

Yeap, I tried it before, but got the same error.

I get this error window just after selecting the xml

Define "acted like it took the update".  It's not a matter of just putting it on the sdcard.  You do have to go and install it.  You did this, right?  Step 5?  Followed the directions as it tells you?
