I've got a xt907 running 98.15.66 with safestrap installed. I had been running eclipse but would now like to unlock the bootloader and install better recovery/newer ROMs.

I'm in the stock slot and I have root, yet when I run the motopocalypse app it does not unlock the bootloader. What gives?

Did you go into boot loader and check of it says locked or unlocked? Did you install the latest drivers and did the computer see your phone? Gotta be something simple if I figured it out.

Im sailing in the same boat here. I hate to break it to ya, but motorola fixed the security hole that allowed us to unlock the bootloader :/ I cant unlock mine either for the same reason. As far as I know they havent fixed it yet. At least this is so with my HD.

Did you accept the update, then revert back?

He's not showing on the latest update, he should be able to unlock.

Yeah, that sucks.  Thanks Moto and Verizon.;)  If you updated, it patched the exploit, and reverting it back still won't allow you to unlock.  However, you can still root it.

Are there any ROMs still being updated that don't require an unlocked bootloader? It seems like most new development has moved on.

I'm new to the forums and been following the locked bootloader issue. I have a dev. Droid Razr M - model XT907.

Motorola will unlock the bootloader of this model.

I think if you buy a phone, you should be able to do with it as you wish. Hope maybe this helps with the OTA fix.

i'm the same situation i accidentally update to 98.18.79 w/no unlock bootloader... now i downgrade to 98.15.66 but any program failed unlocking bootloader, yes root...

...any news to unlock bootloader?!?!?

Since you already updated to .79 and then downgraded, you can't unlock the BL.  .79 locked up the Trusted Zone and reverting won't re-open it.  No, there's no news on a new unlock and there probably won't be.

If you're on that system version, you should be able to unlock.  Can you boot into your AP Fastboot screen and tell us what the date is?

There's a method to root that version and the latest OTA.
