I need to return my ROOTED droid razr to verizon for a factory refurbished unit.

DO I JUST CHOOSE : WIPE than FACTORY RESET in SAFESTRAP after I remove photos, videos etc?

I am running SAFESTRAP Recovery 3.11 (TWRP v 2.2.2.1)

I'm running 3 Roms as follows:

Rom - Stock Rom (Verizon)

Rom - Widow

System version 98.72.16.xt912.verizon.en.US

Model Number Droid Razr Maxx

Android Version 4.1.2

Baseband Version

CDMA_N_05.21.00RLTEDC_U_09.1D.00

Webtop version wt-3.0.0

Kernal Version

3.0.9-gbacb1cfhudsoncm@il93inxdroid80#1

SMP PREEMPT Fri Feb 1 20:59:31 CST 2013

Build Number 9.8.20-72_VZW-16

Build Date Fri Feb 1 20:37:25 CST 2013

You can do this a number of ways, but the best safest way would be to use Matts All in one tool,

Use Option 1 to wipe, when the phone boots up for the first time you can immediately go into Settings - Backup and Reset and do an FDR.

When the next window opens, you can scroll down and erase the SD Card which in this case I believe is the internal (remove your external before doing this)

So I might need to be walked through this: I can't just use the functions on safestrap to restore?

Can you give me detailed instructions on how to do use your system if that is what I need? I just don't want to screw it up.

Thanks.

I can boot to Verizon version Rom , I can't just choose wipe that way or use wipe through safestrap?

Can you give me instructions on how to use your method? I guess my phone needs to be plugged up via USB.

As I understand it i download the file to the desktop.

Then I need to click on drivers with phone connected?

If you could give me a step by step process I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Ok...... its actually very user friendly...:).... once you download the utility.... you need to use WinZip or winrar and extract the zip to your desktop .... once it is extracted....

You need to install the Motorola drivers (included in the utility)

Put your phone in AP Fastboot mode by powering off then holding vol down plus vol up plus power, when the menu comes up, vol down to highlight fast boot, vol up to select it....

Make sure you are fully charged then plug in to the computer via USB (2.0 USB port NOT 3.0)

Then you need to run the executable (LinuxMacUtility.sh if on Linux or Mac or Windows Utility.bat if on windows).....

When the utility starts.... simply select option 1 to completely wipe your phone and set back to "out of the box " stock......

Once the utility is complete your phone will reboot into recovery mode for a couple min.... then it will reboot normally.....

You can/should format the internal storage either before or after using the utility or both if desired.... (this will remove any leftover personal information)......

" ... try not ... do! or do not! ... there is no try ..."

You can unroot using superSu and then do an FDR should do the trick...
