My bionic is still on Icarus HD stripped because it is very stable and I have almost no issues with it. I recently tried out CM 10.1.2 and it seemed to be horrible unstable. I saw constant crashes and lockups.

I am still willing to try out JB but I do not want to lose the ability to go back to my Icarus HD rom. Are there any roms similar to CM where I can install them without having JB as my stock rom?

THANKS!~

Have you tried AOKP?  I always had better luck with it over CM.  Liquid Smooth also have a ROM out for the Bionic.

If I recall correctly I believe most jellybean ROMs were buggy on the ics kernel. I loved ics but I have found I love jb even more, sure it's more of a pain to root but that has just made me appreciate it even more.

Voodoo OTA Root Keeper will allow you to carry root through to JB if so desire.

Having said that, the very last ROM I ran on my Bionic was CM 10.1.2 Stable and I was very very happy with it. Right up until the moment I bricked it (user error).

I should have a signature here...somewhere.

Are you using safestrap?

If so just flash a KEXEC rom onto another slot and try it out. Ive been running AOKP for a while now and it runs very well. After the initial flash the KEXEC builds seem a bit laggy but they smooth out after a reboot. Its much easier than doing an ota and re rooting or trying to keep root through ota, etc.

Aokp has long been one of my favorites. I recently flashed pacman as well to try out 4.3 and to get some new features I wanted to try like HALO. I would recommend it as well(you can run PAC in slot 1 and aokp in 2) pacman uses parts of aokp and has some other options as well.
