Downloading v1.6 now ... appreciate the tip haha. I guess I need to do more reading, not quite familiar with this. I will also install the bloat since I use the car dock and also HD dock but heard some issues happen if not using the Moto bloat.

After you do option one in 1.6 download 1.7 and do option 1 on that lol

You have to be on ICS. Check out Matt's utility to get on ICS , or wait for ota, it's being pushed out now.

You have to download the 211 leak. It's in the development section. Matt's utility has the actual files you need. Follow the directions there, and you'll be gold.

guys, need help ! I'm a newbie and have not been able to get this done.

I have version 6.12.173 installed using Matt's Droid RAZR Utility v1.51. Tried installing "ArcticBetaSemiFinal.zip" using Safestrap and get's stuck when trying to start, I just get a blank screen.

Since I noticed I wasn't using Safestrap 2.0, I downloaded and installed it (back in Gingerbread), but it won't let me enter recovery, just shows the logo and is left stuck there.

Got ICS up and running, will test a bit and see if it runs well. Last time I tried installing the leaked version (about 3 months ago) I had horrible problems with data drops, asides from the camera/camcorder ones.

Yes sir! everything going very well. Just a interesting sidenote ... when I installed safestrap 2.0 I kept rebooting the phone trying to access recovery but all I had was a blank screen ... after some research I found that the issue was as simple as making sure that the phone is not connected to either charger or computer

Love this ROM. Only thing I miss from blur is the favorite contacts widget. Is there any way to get that without flashing the zip containing all the bloated?

Does anyone know how to reinstall smartaction only without all the other bloat? I tried pushing smartaction.apk and smartactionfw.apk. it would let me define the rule but the rule would not activate, maybe I am missing some other apk.

I haven't personally downloaded the RE-bloater package but, if it's a flashable zip, all you should have to do is open up the zip, on your PC, with an app such as 7zip and remove the apks for everything you don't want to flash. Should be that simple. I think I'll dl it and double check though.

Edit: After posting this, I did think of one possibility which could be problematic. I don't have a clue if any of these APKs are codependent on each other. For instance, If you only want APK (A) and, you remove APKs ( B ), ( C ) and (D). There is a slight chance that APK (A) won't work correctly without APK ©. Just a possibility though. I think HTC is bad about those sorts of practices but, I don't know about Moto.

Smartaction is working now after I cleared data and cache.

I can see that being an issue, especially with something like Smart Actions because, its very nature is to interact with certain other stock apps to reach a desired goal or set of goals. I've never used it though so, I really can't offer any direction here. Sorry, brother.

Also, on a side note, I didn't see it at first but, now that I do, I recognize your screen name from somewhere so, I know you aren't a noob. Had I realized at first, I wouldn't have wasted your time with noob advice! lol

So I was running the .79 leak, then I installed Safestrap and went into safe mode. Then I flashed this ROM.


It's smooth, and fast and everything works great.




My question is, am I missing out on anything by not flashing .211 before flashing this ROM?
