I do believe my Bionic is in its final throes - will reverting back to stock improve performance?  I've read that over a period of time SafeStrap and ROMs can have an adverse affect.  I understand I'll almost certainly lose root, but as I'm committed to replacing the Bionic (I'm pretty much sold on the Nexus 5), I can be a big girl and learn to live without my goodies for a month.  If doing an FDR will stop all of the random crashes, reboots, drastic drops in battery level, etc., I'm game.  Otherwise, it's dusting off my Blackberry Curve, which I really don't want to do.

Thanks.

That's what I thought.  I was so frustrated Friday, I tried to get a Nexus 4, but none of the mobile shops near me had any in stock.  Then I saw all the talk and specs for the N5 in the Lair - so glad not to be having buyer's regret.  Technology has us quite spoiled.   Thanks for responding to quickly (and equally thankful this is a forum where you can give props and not be admonished for it!)

Yes, I've been off contract for a short while now,  just have not had the time to sample coverage from TMO or AT&T (both have comparable coverage, not as good as VZW, but good enough).  I'm inclined to try TMO first (the two week offer to try any device and return it with full refund) and their plans are better priced than AT&T.  The $50 all talk, text and data is appealing.

The T-mobile agent I talked to said there was a restocking fee on any phone returned within the 14 day period but i am not sure how true that really is though.

Deep Clean!

Back up all your pictures + anything else you wanna save.

Get on stock and do an FDR and tick "format internal SD"

Format your external SD too.

Should be a brand new phone sans any water damage, drops, or button wear :)

I'm from the internet and so can you!
