i could be wrong but i don't think it does... rooting your device is similar to admin privileges or user account control popping up on windows asking for permissions for certain apps to run... maybe you changed something i havent rooted my razr yet so im not exactly familar with this device but the is the grayed out in taskiller? cause mine is grayed out

I must have did something wrong when I was using TB to uninstall apps. But I ended unrooting using DirtyDroidX direction and re-root. Motocast was back on. I am using TB to freeze before doing any uninstall. So far I am loving the Razr.

After rooting .748, I lost the ability to connect to my wireless network. It's not able to obtain an IP adress.

Just got my replacement device today and immediately updated to .748 Once that was complete I restarted, charged up to full and ran the 1-click root from the OP. Worked like a charm the first time

I just did an SBF, took the OTA to .748, rooted with one click, and now I have a flashing triangle by my signal bars. Anyone know how to get rid of it? Added info.: I only did the SBF to get back to a clean slate. My phone was NOT bricked or anything.

Edit: NVMD.... it went away on its own.

That triangle means you are roaming. Go into Wireless/Network settings and turn CDMA roaming to Home and turn Data Roaming off. Data Roaming can get very expensive, very fast.

Thanks mattlgroff!!! I did as you said and originally it was already set that way. I 'm not sure what the deal was, but it went away on its own. Waiting on the next pre-alpha now.. ;-)

First post (and first thanks) -
Followed OP, downloaded what was required and I am happily rooted on my white razr.
Now going to fool around my TiBu to lock some of those annoying problems out -
Thanks again all for hopefully increasing my pleasure of this phone.
Eyeing that Moto Razr Maxx that just came out with a weary eye tho...
Double battery life sure would have been nicer on this one.

hi can someone help me please.

i'm a noob to rooting..

i purchased a razr that was already rooted.. then got the ota update.

however my version still says 2.3.5 and it is unrooted now.

i've tried all the different root version but still come up with the error as above.

in cmd it has the same errors eg.. read only files etc..

could someone please be kind enough to help me out..

i just want the bloat where gone!

thank you.

I can confirm it works for CDMA, but not sure about GSM. Being that I did not take any part in development or see any mention that it is for GSM aslo, I'd assume not. To be safe, if you are using the GSM version you should probably just refer to our friends at XDA
