I'm sure you're plenty smart. Takes time to learn and if you aren't flashing, that gives you some extra time, right

Are there any new ROMs being developed? I have flashed everyone available for the M. And am currently back on stock rooted. Going through major crack flashing withdrawals. Can't sleep at night. Can't co cent rate during the day. Always surfing tapatalk for new ROM threads. I need help. Lol.

It may be time for an intervention.... But perhaps you learning can give you an understanding what devs go through and maybe just maybe you actually can bring something new to the table We are all here to help and Good Luck

I don't really know. To be honest I just like the idea of flashing ROMs. Comparing them, testing things out. Seeing how they change the phone. I guess if I could custom order a ROM, it would have to have great battery life, a nice looking dialer and phone interface, with the numeric keypad popping up on 800 numbers. Full screen caller ID. Pop up notifications over lock screen. That turn on the display if its off, and that dismiss the notifications bar. Something that has good looking icons. and a launcher that is simple yet intuitive.lol what are you looking for in a rom?

it does in-fact require Linux to build a ROM......
Okay, first question. Can you create a ROM with a windows PC or does it have to be linux?
Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 4
you can use a virtual machine such as VirtualBox or VMware..... however a virtual environment tends to be slower.....
I believe that you can use a virtual machine

yes, you can download (or purchase if you choose) VMware or VirtualBox and install on PC..... Google will provide you with the info/sites to get them from....

When you look back at the ROMs that did come up, it's tough to find much that differentiated between them, especially after jellybean came out. I like Illusion and uXylon, but I don't think a 4.3 version came out for either. Chameleon died off quickly, as Beanstalk and Carbon overwhelmed all comers.

My gut feeling is that we have probably seen all the new ROM development we are going to for the M. With new phones coming out, especially the X, dev interest is waning rapidly in the M.
