Sadly for me, it appears not. Wish I'd come back and seen your message before I used it.

Wife is gonna fry me in oil.

the one and only Redflea? ?? Only been a year brother!!! What's up? Nice to see you on the Razr! Anyway.. Ill catch up via pm..So I will add that I just toggled back to safe mode and on my trusty rooted stock of bloat waiting for the OTA..But flashing early is somewhat tempting..lol You know we all went through this with GB lol Can't a guy get an all in one for crying out loud? Lmao good to see you bro!

All working fine up to getting root. After device boots the 1st time it never completes the other two reboots...suggestions?
But wait....if you're here, who's running hell?

Update: Followed instructions perfectly, got ALL the way to the Update "Patching Boot Image..."

E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.

Guess I'll try to see what I can do to fix it.

For now, I just reflashed .181 using the 1.6 Utility.

So I have a basic phone on .181 right now. I'm only at 15% so Ima let the MAXX charge, then Im going to try using the steps located here:

I GOT IT TO WORK !!

Ok, so here's the thing - there are apparently multiple types of recoveries for the Razr.

Use Matts Utility 1.7 !! Do Option 1

Reboot into recovery, wipe CACHE like 3 times

Apply update from SD card - you may get an error 7 !

If you do, I did, just reboot. Let gingerbread fully come up

Then Power Off

Reboot into Recovery

Reapply from SD Card

SUCCESS !!!!!!!!

Update: When it first started, a process failed and my home, back, and other buttons didn't work.

Just restarted the phone like normal and VOILA !!

So your saying that it is possible, like how we use to update a leak, by simply putting the file on root of SD and either renaming it update.zip or leaving it as blur version blah...then stock recovery apply update. Zip? I was positive i was told a few months back it would not work... I used to love flashing this way..lol

Grr, no luck for me, Coming from rooted 181. Followed all the steps, got an error 0. redid everything without wipe, now error 7. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong here? To top it off, my battery is now low so I'm currently charging it with the red and black from the USB directly to the battery... Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Lol, I guess trademark had the same error... I guess Ill give it another go.

Once you get the error 7, just reboot it from the recovery. Let it power all the way up, then POWER OFF, Reboot into stock recovery, then install from SD card again. Should work fine.

Make sure you're using version 1.7 of the Utility, not 1.6 as shown in the OP

Your method worked great, thanks for making it easy. I have a problem now though, my home button won't work, any fixes?

I think doing this has bricked my phone. Everything was going perfectly until I got this
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
All md5 checked out so I know I didn't get a bad download. The phone will turn. The boot logo pops up and then nothing. All I have a blank screen. I can soft reboot using the power & volume buttons but all that does is repeat the process of boot logo and then blank screen. Any ideas on how to fix this other than go to Verizon and beg for a replacement.

Update: I can get to the Boot Mode screen. However, when I try to scroll down to the fastboost selection, the phone turns off.

It took two times through the install, but it is up and running. From a "Barney" thanks, I couldn't wait for the OTA.

Just restart the phone. Let it boot all the way up (should boot into Gingerbread).

Let it charge if u need to.

Then boot into recovery, and install the zip file

Solved my sideload error by using Matts 1.7 utility instead of 1.6.

OP, maybe include 1.7 in instructions. it knocks out the need for Unstuck.211

Great OP though nonetheless. Thank you everyone for your help.

Do a soft reboot into AP fastboot.
Use matt's utility to fastboot back to 181.
Use the method I posted a couple pages back.

Thank tredemark, I got it working... After the status 7 and jumping the battery, it wouldn't boot up to GB (my best guess is software didn't recognize the charge). So, I ran Matt's 1.7 utility as you suggested, wiped data/factory reset, wipe cache 3 times, then immediately on to the ICS install from SD. Booted right up after that. Thanks again.

No problem. Im in love with the ICS !!

Best part is it's compatible with the Google Chrome Beta ... Im a sucker for Google Chrome apps.

Only thing I don't like is its missing the task manager that was on gingerbread. Wonder if someone can post the stock gingerbread task manager app
