Send it on a trip through the House of Moto.  Use the KEEP DATA script.

Hello beautiful people!

I'm having a bit of a problem... well, more of an inconvenience really.

I'm using the XT926, rooted with CMR. I made the mistake a couple months ago to flash back to stock firmware and the root again. Then i tried to do the over-the-air update. Then my phone... exploded. To make a long story short, I managed to throw LiquidSmooth and CMR back on there after some troubleshooting, but first I ran the unroot/factory software flash utility from Motorola and... it failed. Now every time I hit the power button while the device is powered off, I go directly into AP Fastboot with the following message:

AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)

10.9B(*) (sha-1e9f557, 2013-05-30 19:08:40)            // I'm assuming this is the time and place that the error occurred, because it never changes.

eMMC Info: Size 32GB

Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code: 3

Battery OK

Connect USB

Data Cable

Fastboot Reason: Flash Failure

or if I'm connected to the computer via USB:

AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)

10.9B(*) (sha-1e9f557, 2013-05-30 19:08:40)

eMMC Info: Size 32GB

Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code: 3

Battery OK

Transfer Mode:

USB Connected

Fastboot Reason: Flash Failure

usb connected

Now the phone still boots up and runs just fine, but I have to do the three button press bull crap to get to the menu and then select "Normal Startup"

This happens regardless of connection to a PC or power source and what's worse is that I cant seem to flash anything through AP Fastboot anymore.  <_<

Any ideas on how to fix this? It's soooooooooo annoying.

Thanks! Free BJ's for whomever solves my problem!  :lol(Not actually. I'll just really appreciate it.)

You just need another successful flash. You could flash a simple boot logo or something and you will be good.

Edit: Use these

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

. Follow the 2nd method in the OP that uses scripts to fastboot flash the logo

Yes, that's what I thought too, but I can't flash a boot logo.

I tried using MonkeyMouth 2 to flash a logo in, but it came back with:

sending 'logo.bin' (854 KB)... OKAY [  0.077s]

writing 'logo.bin'... INFOInvalid partition name logo.bin

FAILED (remote failure)

rebooting...

I'm probably doing something really dumb and simply flawed, but I'm a little out of my comfort zone on this one haha. You were really fast to respond BTW. I mean, damn!  B)

extract the stock firmware file.

edit xml and remove the getvar line.

extract the contents of the file i.ve uploaded into the folder in which stock firmware has been extracted.

put device in fastboot mode.

execute fastboot_flash_erase_userdata.bat.

sit back and relax.. B)

Either I'm doing something wrong, or I can't flash a boot logo.

I'd rather not, but as a last resort, I'll consider it.

edit the script from MonkeyMouth and change the lines that say:

moto-fastboot flash logo.bin logos/whatever_image_here

to

moto-fastboot flash logo logos/whatever_image_here

hope that helps :) I know it will....

Well, it worked... sort of. No more fastboot error, but now it only boots into recovery mode. However, I can get it to boot the proper way by holding down all three of the buttons and selecting "Normal Powerup" So, net zero haha.

Well if you go to the Motorola section of the forum, you'll see a section called SamuriHL's House of Moto. In that section is a post called House of Moto. If you read that post, read it again, and read it once more, you will find a tool that can fix your issue.

I keep getting the pre flash validation failed; remote failure. On a different post regarding the Root Script/Utility (July 24, 2013), there are rooting instructions w/ links for the zip files needed. The instructions call for an item to be extracted from the zip and then "...flashed using the AP flash mode: fastboot flash boot boot.img." I have read several threads and been on google for 2 days and I have no idea how to "flash" anything. HELP!!!! Por favor!
