I'm a big fan of TWRP and it looks like no one had built the latest version for the xt926 yet, so i made one. All of the usual warnings apply. Flash at your own risk and be sure to have a "stable" recovery on hand incase something goes wrong. This one is compatible with 4.3 based ROMs.

So far i have tested:

  • Backup
  • Restore
  • ROM Install (CM 10.2 was the ROM i tested with)
  • File Manager
  • Charging
  • Screen on/off

Hashcode and Dhacker for doing all of the legwork to get TWRP working in the first place and for all of the other amazing things they do.

Mine definitely shows v2.6.3.0 at the top. I had made a build of both 2.6.1.0 and 2.6.3.0 the day that I made this, so there's a small chance that i uploaded the wrong one, but i really don't think so. I'll double check.

Nope, just re-downloaded and flashed the file. It's definitely v2.6.3.0. Check to make sure your ROM doesn't try and replace the recovery on boot. Look at /system/etc/install-recovery.sh

So do I need to delete the install-recovery.sh out of system/etc? Thanks.

Most likely, but before you do, let me know which ROM you're running so i can double check.  I didn't know of any that included TWRP in that fashion.

Ah ok.  It doesn't look like slim bean overwrites the recovery, so that's not the issue.  I would just try re-downloading and flashing it again.  This time though, before booting back into your ROM, hold all the buttons again (same way you just got to fastboot) and select recovery.  Let me know how that goes.

Just wanted let ya know finally got it, your file was correct. Must been something with my computer. Running TWRP 2.6.3.0 now. One more crazy question, since this recovery is compatible with 4.3 roms, would it maybe be beneficial to re-flash this Slim Bean rom since its 4.3? Thanks.....

Probably not no.  2.6.1.0 added initial compatibility for 4.3 and 2.6.3.0 expanded upon that.

For me, so far, yes. I've flashed 2 different ROMS, 6-7 nightly builds, and several Backup/Restores with it since I made this build of TWRP and all has been working so far for me.

Do you have adb/fasboot installed?  You use fastboot to install it.

Do I use the fastboot method from this thread?

I only tried 'adb reboot bootloader' and then typed in the above command in the OP. But I got 'variable not supported'. I didnt want to go any further as this is my first time ever using ADB and I def need my phone for work tomorrow...lol

Im not sure if it makes a difference but im currently having this problem with TWRP 2.5 backup. I was hoping flashing this new recovery would fix my prob.

Also, Do I need to stick the .img in an ADB folder or add it somewhere in ADB? Or am I cool with it chillin on my desktop now that I have the full ADB installed and mapped?

Please excuse my noobness and Thx in advance!
