My XT912 (factory settings) starting acting strangely tonight.  I would repeatedly receive the same text messages, then after restarting my phone, windows would immediately pop-up telling me that certain apps have stopped (e.g. gmail, fandango, etc.).  I figured I would just go ahead and do a factory reset, but it's not working.  I can get to the boot menu, choose to factory reset and wipe all data, but as soon as the phone restarts, nothing has changed, all the data/apps/settings are still there.  Then I just hooked it up to my computer and chose to format the internal storage.  Restarted the phone and everything's back.  I'm not sure if this is a virus or what, but anyone have any ideas how ot fix this?  Thanks!

I'd grab the latest of Matt's utilities and try restoring the phone to stock

Well, I tried Matt's utility to flash the official firmware and wipe the data.  It proceeded as it was supposed to, but when the phone reset, nothing had changed.  All my stuff is still there.  I'll try the house of moto tool later, but I'm not sure if it is going to do anything.

Also... you can look here...

for some insight about formatting storages.... you may have something on storage(s) that's not playing nice.....

Also make sure you are not restoring your data from Google account by UN checking the back my data box in menu/system settings/privacy before running the utility

I chose option 1 to wipe all data.  I have also tried manually formatting the internal storage.  It's not set to back up or sync to google or any other services.

Delete Fandango...This could be your issue...I've had problems with this App before

Remove it and see how your Phone performs...

Wish it were this simple.  Uninstalled Fandango.  Restarted phone.  Fandango is back.
