I've been looking for something similar to the AOKP battery mod but haven't seen anything to date.

Here's a new battery mod that I created that is unique and easy to view.

Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer.

Installation
Note: This has been tested on The Arctic, Eclipse and the deodexed .2XX base from Kebob. To be used with RAZRSafestrap-ICS-2.00.

You must be Deodexed to use this MOD!!!!

Make a Nandroid before applying. It's a good practice in case something goes wrong or you decide you want to revert back.

Download file and place on SDCard. Install from SD. No need to wipe anything.

EDIT: I'm recreating the mods to be used specific to the rom installed. If it's not listed and you'd like to use it on your .2XX based rom, shoot me a PM and I'll update for you.

EmericanX for the script and the tips.
spc_hicks09 for the APKTOOL tutorial to get me started.

If you would like learn how this is done, you'll need a few things.
  • The tools necessary to decompile and compile the SystemUI.apk. Check out this link provided by spc_hicks09:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

  • From your desired ROM, grab SystemUI.apk from system/app/ and framework-res.apk from system/framework and copy the files to your computer. From here, follow the directions from the link in step 1.
  • Once you've decompiled the SystemUI.apk from your desired ROM, locate the new SystemUI folder and naviagate to: SystemUI/res/drawable-hdpi. The battery discharge icons are labeled as: stat_sys_battery_[number here represents battery reading] and stat_sys_battery_charge_anim[number here represents battery reading].
  • The xml files associated with these images are located in the folder: SystemUI/res/drawable/stat_sys_battery and stat_sys_battery_charge. I had to change these xml files as I created a battery mod to represent accurate battery readings as opposed to jumping from 10% increments.
Note: if you don't change any of the xml files, you can also open the SystemUI.apk with 7-zip and replace any images you want without decompiling.

Silverlink34 mentioned he is going to create a full tutorial on this so I don't want to go in much more detail and take away from what he is working on.

Feel free to PM me with any questions I have. The way I learned was trial and error. And of course asking many questions ;)

Nice Job man!!!!! Questin though, does your updater-script wipe cache and dalvik? It's needed when applying a mod like this.

Thanks! No wipes in the update. I've flashed this countless times without wiping and have never run into any issues. I'll add that I've done this on 2 different razrs.

I think the mod would have to be recreated using the Black Widow Framework-res.apk. I'll test in the meantime.

I shot Andlaw a message. Let me know if you hear something and I can update the OP.

Edit: I recreated the mod for Eclipse and the notification toggle remains after applying the battery mod. I'll have to do the same for Black Widow but the rom download is taking awhile.

I'll update the OP tomorrow but Andlaw may beat me to the punch ;)

I have the stock OTA and safestrapped with ArcticICS on the non-safe side. Will I be able to flash this onto the Arctic Rom without any issues? Is Arctic already deodexed or do i need to flash a base .211 deodexed Rom first? Sorry for the noob question. Thanks

Arctic is already deodexed but, how did you flash this on your "non-safe" side? Arctic should have only been flashed with safe system ENABLED.

To answer your question though, yes this should flash right over Arctic ROM, just wipe cache and dalvik first.

I was able to replicate your issue this morning. I recreated the mod using the framework-res.apk from Black Widow ICS and reflashed, and the toggles are now back. Give it a shot with the new mod.
