XT907 stuck in AP Fastboot, Device is LOCKED

Best Answer karlkeppner , 08 November 2013 - 09:55 PM

Sam's House of Moto seems like a good tool but I didn't even use it. I found that today they posted the new update for XT907 on http://sbf.droid-developers.org/. I used RSD Lite to flash it... GOLDEN! It seems like this OTA actually locked my bootloader temporarily and this was the only firmware that it would take. Once I rebooted it was unlocked again. No idea how that works but I got it to flash so I'm happy. Thanks for the help guys!

Edit: I guess I should mention that after downloading the firmware, I had to remove the line in the .xml file that contained getvar. Otherwise RSD fails.

My ear speaker on my Razr M blew out so I called and they are sending me a replacement. I was currently running PacMac ROM and decided I should go back to stock before sending it back. I used the DROID_RAZR_M_Utility_1.20

to flash back everything to stock but wasn't able to lock my bootloader. I saw there was an OTA update and since I was "stock" now I decided to take it so it didn't try and download itself over the cell connection later. Well it broke and now I'm stuck in the AP Bootloader and the bootloader is now locked. I can't flash it with anything to save my life. I read on Motorola support forums that there was a new OTA update yesterday but I can't find anything official on it.

I've read that people who had this issue previously had to get the new leaked firmware and then use RSD Lite to flash it. Since it's locked you have to flash to the same or newer firmware, correct? Has anyone seen this new firmware leak or have another idea how to fix it? Here is what I get when I try flashing manually.

First thing........ were you unlocked? Or just thought you were?..... as far as we know, updating will NOT lock the bootloader......... also what exactly did you try flashing? ..... you may have attempted to flash the wrong thing...... and by the looks of it, you did not use RSDlite ..... RSDlite (or house of moto) is the BEST method(s) for flashing back to stock......

I originally was unlocked. I flashed the stock rom that DROID_RAZR_M_Utility_1.20 came with. It still showed that I had an unlocked bootloader then I took the OTA update and it installed half way then broke and is stuck at AP Bootloader that is showing locked. I'll check out Sam's House of Moto. Thanks!

I don't see the line containing getvar. in the .xml file. Would you mind maybe putting up a screen shot?

Good morning,

Have there been any changes to this process? I'm in the M logo/Device is locked scenario.

I've tried both Sam's procedure and RSD, with various failures (Sam's - the errors show on the screen, but not in the log file. RSD - update gpt_main failed and preflash validation failed for GPT).

I'd really like to get this working again.

I had, prior to this, used TowelRoot and Motopocalypse. Things were fine until about 2:12 am EST, when it woke me up, flashing all sorts of process not working errors.

Cheers,

michael0253

If you used motopocalypse and unlocked, your device will still be unlocked.  Are you trying to flash a build that is older than what you previously had on it?

I believe I'm using the same build from 5/24/14 that was there before.

Sadly, I didn't write any specs down before it went toes up early this morning, as it was running fine.

I got the build from sbf.droid-developers.org/ and it was their latest and greatest.

Cheers,

michael0253
