if you can get into fastboot why not try the tool and see if it fixes the issue? just because you flashed the wrong file doesnt automatically mean its hosed.
I wanted to, just found this post and called my house from work for them to take it out of the mail but it had already been picked up. Figured the unlocked bootloader would be worth trying again to solve the problem alone now that I've got this already updated 9.30 replacement. I would of had to get a cable to charge it because it dropped below 50% is the only thing but I'd of done it. Sucks I just saw this post a day too late. I was just curious if when the phone gets fixed (if they figure out how) will the bootloader go back to unlocked and they see it and charge me.

If your unlocked your probably not hosed....
It went back to a "locked" status when all that happened so I couldn't rsd or anything

Then you were never unlocked my friend........its not possible to go back from unlocked to locked since the exploit to unlock blew a physical fuse in the phone.

That's what I thought. Unless it's false indication? The originator of this post said the same thing happened. Is it possible to not be truly unlocked even if the fastboot status said it was at one point?

Personally, I just dont believe it. Not saying anyone is lying, I just think they are mistaken. We blew an efuse to unlock the BL and we are reasonably sure that from a hardware perspective aint nothing gonna fix the fuse. Is it possible that they figure out a software method to fool the phone into believing its locked, well I suppose. But dont think it too likely.

It shows locked when a flash fails. But correcting that will show unlocked again.

OK folks, This just happened to me. Did anyone get that phone working?
My issue was BL unlocked, Safestrap 3.12 installed. I hadn't used it in several months and decided to sell it. anyhow, I forgot to remove safe strap, I run Matt's 1.21 utility installing stock 6.16 and stock recovery. I got the 1st OTA update 9.18.9 or something close to that. it failed and I got the OP's exact error screen. AND yes it now says LOCKED. Am I screwed? I still have a full battery.

so if you were unlocked previously the question would be why were you using safestrap? that is for locked devices...

I was using it to provide a 4-way power menu. It was the only way I knew how. I don't really see how it matters, tho.

Oh my. LMAO. You can also use my RSD Script Generator to generate a KEEP DATA script to flash in RSD that will restore you to stock while keeping your data.

Thanks for all the quick help, guys. Back in the day I was saved by the House of Bionic, I'm not sure there was a House of Moto the last time I was on the forum. But it must be made of BRICKS.
Thanks again to all -
