It appears that you have attempted to FXZ using the wrong file(s) ..... what system version were you on?.... what did you attempt to flash?..... and how did you flash (what utility e.g. RSDlite, House of Moto, Matt's utility).....

I was rooted, unlocked, I was trying to return to complete stock. That part went well. I put the moto recovery back on. Then took an update. That's what did it. Trying to get it back to stock for wife. She is not happy....roflmao....she is on a Windows Phone for now.

I fxz back to 4.1.2. Then rooted the phone to put moto recovery back on phone. All was good until I took over the air update.

Ummm, not unlocked. That shows in the fastboot screen. I would first try to download the fxz version of stock it was on and using House of Moto flash with a save data. If that fails on the tz partition then it must have updated part way and you'll need to download the version it was trying to update to and do the same. On the sbf site, keep in mind the newest two versions are not in the device specific folder but on the home page.

4.1.2 is not exactly specific enough since there have been 4 versions of that.  You need to flash the proper FXZ else you'll never get past this issue.

Fxz 4.1.2 fails. I'm not sure of what it was trying to update to. 9.18 something I think. It was unlocked until the update was downloaded and installed.

"FXZ 4.1.2"....yup, that's like saying "Jellybean".  It's a meaningless number because there are _4_ builds.  9.18 "something" is also useless.  If you're flashing something to your phone and don't know what version it is you had on there and what you're flashing....well, the outcome is the situation you find yourself in.  Sadly, I think you're going to have to flash "4.1.2" 9.8.30.1 which is the latest.  If you're truly unlocked then it'll go back to being unlocked.  if you weren't, then you will lose root.

We have seen another case of it showing "locked" when the update fails...(or halfway installs).. a complete FXZ (more than likely need to use the latest from sbf developers) should take care of it for you.... then if you were unlocked, it will go back to being unlocked..... then you can flash recovery and flash root....:) Ninja'd by the Samuri .... or Samuri'd by the ninja!!!! .....:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

I'm lost. Nothing is working. I've tried every way that I know. I've removed getvar. I've tried all 4 of the 4.1.2 fxz files. When I unlocked the bootloader, the very next update Verizon sent out was to lock the bootloader back down correct? Remember it was an ota that did this. The phone was working and back to stock with stock moto recovery, when I took an update.
I was giving the phone to my wife. I'm just going to put her back on her commando for now.
