Well, 4.1.2 -> 4.4 is not exactly a "normal" upgrade path.  LOL!  Leave it to Moto to do something screwy.  In theory it should work fine, however, as I think the key ingredient was making sure that the restore worked on 4.4 once it's installed OTA.  As always, make SURE to update your su binary and refresh your backup BEFORE taking any OTA's.  This will ensure the greatest level of compatibility.

Well, my updater is still locked out since I renamed it per your instructions earlier in this thread. :) Oh, and I got my live wallpapers working again thanks to the Nexesque ROM that I was able to extract the apk's out of. lol I guess what I'll do is just keep my eyes on this site for when people say it's hitting their devices.

LMAO!  You don't believe that's going to be....soon...do you?  :)  The new Droids haven't been updated yet.  Rest assured they will.  But the HD and M won't get any KitKat love until that happens.

Oh I figure probably sometime around March or April. If we're lucky.  That's why I'm not buggin' about how to do it now. Besides, I may end up with some cash and upgrade by then anyway.  I wonder what would be the best replacement for an XT926?

I repaired my headphone jack, it was very easy. Need a few tools and the new jack was $10. No soldering :)

ifixit.com has all the tools, they also have a video for the xt912 which is what I used as a basis, but its not really all that similar...

you basically should get the plastic prying tools and you need 2 Torx but I cant remember which ones exactly, it was T3, T4, T5 but only 2 are needed.

I bought a 54 bit driver set so I can have small tools for this and other devices.

It was very easy. Pried open the phone, IIRC then it was remove a few torx to get the jack to release. Its just held in by pressure from the screws nearby.

Also, if you follow the 912 video, just use it for prying the covers. the 926 is much easier than the 912 and you will NOT need a heat gun or deal with anything like that.

like I said, easy peasy ;)

If you want to stick with annoying Verizon, I'd say the new DROID lineup, unless you figure out how to break the radio and allow external SIM cards and go to someone else. Maybe even an N5 or Moto X?

CURRENT DEVICES: Nexus 7 (2013) - Stock 4.4, Rooted, TWRP, Unlocked bootloader / RAZR Maxx HD - Stock, locked, 4.4.2
PREVIOUS DEVICES - In order: RAZR M - Stock and rooted, with broken radio allowing for T-Mo and AT&T SIM Cards / Galaxy Nexus - Stock [RIP - Victim of the random reboot bug] / Galaxy Stratosphere - Stock

I'm thinking we may see an update in January given the quick timeline on the newer droid phones.

there is a hack to unlock the Sim card to work on at&t and T-Mobile

Dropped and cracked my screen "barely"... sent in to moto to replace screen and low and behold they could not fix and sent me a brand new one with the update to keep from unlocking..... Needless to say I can't wait for kitkat.
