I am new to this forum. I have rooted all my previous devices, with custom roms etc, as well as my previous XT926. With it i was able to keep root when i received my the update.

Problem is my original XT926 had a hardware issue. When i received my new device from warranty center it came with 9.30.1.

I have tried everything i know to gain root access with no avail. I have read all the forums and even tried some things I already knew wouldnt work. That's kind of what got me into this predicament.

My phone now boots to AP Fastboot everytime its powered on due to a failed flash of "samurihl_downgrade-razr_hd"

I have tried flashing "VRZ_XT926_9.8.1Q-94-1_CFC.xml" but it also fails.

The reason i want root is for titanium backup, as well as i use USB OTG to mount a SD card reader. I use Root Explorer to save, delete, view, modify files on it. The phone wont allow me to do this as it is.

I am looking for a fix for the AP fastboot, as well as if anyone knows a way to create, modify, delete files using an OTG card reader without root since it seems that rooting this system version is impossible at the moment.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Cody

Being on 9.30.1 you will not gain root.  If you had read the OP of the downgrade script thread, you would have noticed the big warning NOT to use that method on your version.  That's what got you where you are.

You say that you have flashed the VRZ_XT926_9.8.1Q-94-1 and it fails.  You need to be more specific as to what the failure was and how you flashed it.

I used RSD Lite to flash. Put the phone into AP FastBoot. Then selected the zip file, uncompress and flash. It immediately says flash failed.

Using the samuri flash it would make it about half way through and then fail.

I'm sorry i don't know exactly what the error was. Please let me know if you need it exactly i will attempt to reflash and take a screen shot.

Yes.... we need to know the exact error(s)..... if you use the rsd mode in HoM... post a copy of the SWDL.text (in the rsd directory..... also run the CreateLOG.bat in the HoM directory.... post the results of that as well.....

A copy of the command line errors will be helpful as well.......

We can then have a clear picture of what is or is not going on with your phone....

I know it sounds like a lot to find and post but.... I'm sure you understand, saying "I got errors" is kinda vague :) :)

Since my last post i have gained root on my device but I am still stuck in fastboot. And my phone is insanely slow!!

I have not tried flashing any more. Can someone please point me towards the newest tool for flashing as well as file i need to flash. i have been out of the loop for a while. Been working like crazy and come home every night to 4 kids. so needless to say i havent had much time to put into my phone.

I have never used the House of Moto stuff. Maybe thats my answer to get it done. Any info or Any help much appreciated.
