I'm on a 4.3 ROM.  Is there anything special I need to do to flash this rom?

No just make a Backup. Just remember to make a backup. Wipe and have fun. I know I am.

Moving on somber73 is there a way to change the color of the buttons home and back buttons? I kinda think there is but this is my first 4.4 rom I like it so far Thank You.  :)

EDIT somber73 no worries I found it just had to look a little farther

OK, first off...  Thanks to the Devs for this great ROM.  A few initial issues.  I had no WiFi when I installed this.  For some reason it wouldn't let me sync my Google account without WiFi. I was able to get it going at the local McDonalds.  Next issue, there was no keyboard.  I was able to go into settings.  Deselect the keyboard.  Reselect it and it was there.  Next issue that just encountered is swype isn't working.  I remember having this problem the last time I used a pa gapps..  Again..  ROM is smooth!  Thanks again.  Everyone should try it..

One question.  When I try to do a nand backup it fails when I try to do it on SD card?  I then did a nand and save it on internal. However when I attempt to move it from the internal to the sdcard it fails?  Any suggestions?  My sdcard is 32gb.  Is that the problem

Do a full wipe and repeat the process. And also do you have the latest recovery. I.E TWRP or Cwm?

With the 4.4 roms I've noticed that the external storage is read only. At least on my phone anyway.

You need to edit the /etc/permissions/platform.xml file and add to the section WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE the line:

<group gid="media_rw" />

and reboot. I posted this fix I think in Tucstwos AOSP thread, I got it from XDA....

This is NOT a critique - but merely a question.

OSE is my daily driver.  I installed this - it is smooth for sure.  Loaded up apps, adblocker started, etc.  Rebooted a few times and let her settle in a bit.  Quad scores averaging 4100 at best, versus OSE 4.4 around 5600.

As both of these are 4.4, any thoughts on why such the difference?  I could see a few hundred points, but almost 30%?

Are you experiencing any lag?  I read somewhere about another rom has low Quad scores.  Would be interested to know this as well.

Edit:  PS.  How do I get rid of HALO?

Lag - I did have some noticeable lag on one of the updates, I think it was 11/27.  After that it was just about gone.  It still isn't as "snappy" as I'd like, but it is hardly noticeable at all now with the latest updates.  Not sure what changed if anything, maybe I'm just getting too old!

Not sure how to get rid of halo, but I believe there IS a way to turn it off.

Is halo on your screen? If so just drag and drop like you'd do any other icon

I did this too:  Double tap + hold it until you can move it, then drag it to the red circle with cross at the top of your screen.
