I'm totally new to this idea but once I heard about it I had to look into it. I unfortunately like to keep my phone updated so it works like intended but I'm sick of android 4.1.2, and I heard if I rooted my phone I could get the newest android version :o but I haven't come across anything for my version yet, is there any way to root my phone?

Please and thank you for any advice :)

Not sure on that.... But here's some hope.... There is a better chance (still not a guarantee tho) of people trying to come up with a root exploit for KitKat as opposed to current (JB) .... Since everyone's focus right now is on KK (and newer devices)......

If I'm understanding this thread correctly, a RAZR M XT907 with 98.18.94 (build # 9.8 1Q-94) has no hope for rooting, unlocking, flashing, Superuser usage, or CyanogenMod?

Dang. I received this phone as a SIM-swap from a Windows Phone, was hoping to do all that so I could do more than disable the Verizon/Motorola bloatware...

Plenty of people have the KK update as it went OTA.

There is NO ROOT for it, and likely will not be in the foreseeable future - Unless you are on an unlocked device, then it's easily done in recovery as normal.
