I've tried dozens of fastboot files from that Moto site, both for the xt910 and 12. What fascinates me is that none of them work. My harddrive space is starting to grow thin. I have been mad at searching the webs for a solution, finding a number of solutions that might work, only to find that none of them actually work in my case. The phone always returns fail. I cannot erase the CID because ADB returns restricted. But wait. Even if the phone did not have stock ICS, any kind of ICS locks away GB return possibilities, is that right? I have tried 2 different computers, am thinking about trying it out on my old win XP one. I have tried all USB ports, with and without other devices connected. I am sure I have all the required drivers installed. And I am using the moto cable that came with the phone. Getting a factory cable would be quite difficult from where I am. What is it that doesn't click? What am I missing?

EDIT  I've been thinking. Why do I have to keep messing with trying to get the firmware version right? Is it not possible to, I don't know, do a full total wipe of everything in the phone and then put just something on it? say, making it possible to go back to GB? Or is that where the whole big problem is, that this would be impossible with a locked bootloader? And that only the Moto people have the tools to put a fresh system on an empty phone? I would have liked to do what I can do whenever my computer disappoints me as I mess with the system - as a last resort just completely raid the disk and put a fresh OS on it.

The battery still is showing OK. I can get in AP Fastboot, but nothing to get me further. What does a factory cable change? Besides feeding the device when the battery is flat.

And now thinking even more. I read that I should not flash an ICS rom on a JB. But my JB didn't come through. That doesn't say much good things about the state of the phone, does it? Is there any hope?
