I am trying to install a ROM on my rooted Razr M for the first time.  The first step in doing so is installing TWRP 2.6.3.0.  I downloaded the file and ran the .bat file to install 2.6.3.0.  It loaded onto my phone, restarted and then I get the following message on the screen:

AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
10.9B(*) (sha-1e9f557, 2012-10-21 17:10:35)
eMMC Info: Size 8GB

Device is LOCKED, Status Code: 0

Battery OK

Connect USB
Data Cable

Failed to hab check for recovery: 0x56
Fastboot Reason: Boot Failure

Can somebody tell me what to do to fix this?  I have all of the .zip files on my SD card ready to go, but I can't get into recovery.  Can somebody help?  Thanks.

The ap fastboot screen tells you your problem..... You are locked.... You cannot flash TWRP on a locked device.... You will need to flash stock recovery ... Or FXZ back to stock....

Then if you are on a system version that can be rooted, you can install safestrap to be able to flash ROMS etc....

Thanks!  Could you send me any links / tutorials to point me in the right direction for the following (whatever is easiest to install a new ROM):

1.  Flash Stock Recovery

2.  FXZ back to stock

3.  Installing safestrap

In the process, can I save / backup my current configuration (i.e. apps / ROM / etc.)?

Thanks.

Your bootloader date is showing from October 2012.  What system version are you on?  I believe that's ICS still.  Have you updated at all?  Also, you should be able to unlock your BL if you're not on the current updates.

I am on 4.1.1 I disabled my automatic updates because I did not want to lose root. 98.12.14.XT907.Verizon.in.US is my system version. I have not updated at all. How do I disable my bootloader? Is that part of unlocking my phone? If so, how do I do that? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if Motopocalypse will work on .14, it should but I haven't seen anyone use it on a system version that old.  It should work since you haven't updated.

You'll need to be rooted, which you are.  Try running the stand-alone Motopocalypse utility first.

If that doesn't work, use Matt's utility to update to the system version that was unlocked.  You will lose root, as this will be installing a new system version.  However, the root tool and unlock tool are all packaged together in the utility, so you'll be okay.

I will give that a try.  Before doing so, is there a way I can backup my current configuration / system settings and save it on my SD card?  Thanks.
