I have a Droid RAZR M and the device still says "Device is Locked" on the AP fastbkkt screen. I attempted to unlock it, would it need to say that the device is unlocked on that screen for the bootloader to be unlocked?

Yes it would.  What system version are you on?  In other words, what's the date on the AP FB screen?

Since you updated in May, you won't be able to unlock your BL, even though you downgraded to .66.  However, you can root.  Just don't update the OTA in November, it blocks root.

Alright, thanks for the help. I actually just purchased this phone with the updated bootloader. Is there a way to downgrade boot loaders?

can someone please tell me whether or not I can get my B/L unlocked. I have been searching high and low for answers but always seem to get the run around. I have not taken any OTAs from Verizon and nor Motorolla lol. I have SS running but would love to unlock this bad boy.

I remember the days of my tbolt and my samsung moment. Things were much easier.. This motorolla crap is weird and backwards compared to those user friendly devices.

Thanks guys

Yeah, it blows.  When I was running SS, prior to the BL unlock, I would just switch back to my stock ROM whenever I needed the camera.

Just wondering, since I am stuck with a locked bootloader, am I actually missing out on anything by not having Kitkat?

Your not missing out on anything being locked. I've tried just about every ROM and ended up going back to stock. Everything works as expected and that's all I need. Being rooted is a very good thing and wouldn't want to loose that. KitKat is supposed to be coming to are M's some time in the future as an ota anyway.
