T-Mobile seems to be the Best Place to hang you Hat with Nexus...Now, AT&T... I'd pay them not to be my Carrier if they were the last Carrier on the Plant

I'd take anything other than VZW if I could.  It's the price you pay for living in the sticks.  Could move but I like the sticks.  It's the nature of the beast.

Though I still want to get a different phone (sucks looking at a cracked screen), oddly enough it appears that the crashing may have been caused by my 16 gig class 10 microSD card.  Since its been out of the phone for a few days I have not had any crashes/lockups.  This weekend I'll plug it back in and see if that causes the problem to come back.

 

If I go the used phone route, I'm tempted to get a Droid DNA since those can be had for reasonable amounts.  If I go the new route I may look to getting an HTC One though that mean running Sense and Blink Feed at least for a little whie.  Decisions, decisions...

I had a couple bad mSD cards that did the same, so you  probably hit it on the nose.

Hmm?  With the prior RAZR (this one replaced it) with the same card would not crash like that.  However, it would very frequently spontaneously mount and unmount that card.  This would happen up to a dozen times before noon!  And of course when that happens the phone has to scan the file system to make sure it is consistent.  That drains the battery needlessly.  Asurion replaced it and, well you know the rest.  Off hand I don't recall what brand the card is (its at home, I'm at work) but it is a name brand IIRC.

Love my DNA. Had it since day 1. I used a custon launcher so I never see blinkfeed. Plus it's on 4.2.2 with 4.4 known to be coming at some point. Plus fully unlockable. rootable and S-off

Really tempted to go the DNA route.  When I saw it in the store I fell in love with it.  Right sized.  Seemed plenty quick.  Great display.  And like I said I can buy used for reasonable prices.

We also have 2 in house Devs that have pushed out Roms for it within the last few weeks

On a related note, has anybody here ever had problems with Samsung class 10 microSD cards?  None of the computers I plugged it into (via a USB adapter) have any trouble with it whatsoever...

Just an update.  Not a single crash since I've removed the external SD card.  Of course 8 megs of the internal one fills up real quick with music and such.  Found an old unused Droid X2 screen protector I had from long ago and installed it.  It covers the active part of the screen perfectly. Now I remember why I hate screen protectors.  They collect grease and dirt badly.  At least I won't be cutting my fingers while swyping on the screen.  I'm not going to pay $100 to Asurion to replace it since you only get so many claims per line.  I do plan on getting a used phone to replace this one when I can scratch together enough cash to do so.

Arranged to order a DNA for cheaper than I expected.  Once my money is in PayPal (hate that 3-5 business day delay) I can finalize.  That will be my first non-Moto phone in ages.  Hell I think it would be since I had a Samsung a310 flip phone!

I've had it since release day and still am not ready to part with it going on a year and a half. Don't even think I had my OG Droid that long. Lol...
