How do I get my phone to go into deep sleep more often?? Or is 300mhz more beneficial???

You can use CPU Sleep which turns off a core when you don't need it

Use better battery stats or badass battery monitor and check wake locks. There is most likely an app keeping the phone awake when the screen is off.

You could use SetCPU from the market and scale it down from 600MHz to 800 or 1000Mhz depending on preference. Set min to 600mhz so the cpu doesnt lag while screen off. change the governor to "hotplug" and the scheduler to "noop"

Mine has some even more fun issues when I leave it on for a few days, the screen won't shut off unless I hit the power button (it'll stay on for an hour if I just set it on the desk right on the home screen or anything else, doesn't matter) and the phone doesn't scale it's power properly. Requires a reboot to fix. I have yet to see if it's a problem with my phone or something else.

you have tried going to display and setting the screen to shut off at 30 sec or 1 minute?
