Hello Folks,

I am on asiaretail version of 2.3.6 gingerbread on my GSM Razr.
I had my phone rooted with Motofail.
So, I used OTA rootkeeper and used temporary unroot.
And download the OTA update.
But somehow it showed the STATUS 7 Error and did not update the phone.
So I rebooted and restored it to factory data.
Again rebooted to recovery... wiped and cleared cache partition ...
rebooted, and tried again to update ... and failed.
Did try for 2 more times and failed.

Now I don't know what is wrong and why is it not updating.
The thing is, I keep getting this update notification every now and then. and trust me, like most of the people, I waited for the update so long. But it's nervebreaking that I cannot update it.

Please help guys. Thanks in advance. Appreciate it.

Were you ever rooted and installed a custom recovery? The Status 7 is because a bloat file was frozen/or removed, or custom recovery was not uninstalled.

Thanks for a quick reply man. I never flashed any other rom on my phone. I am in China and ever since I bought the phone, it has been on Gingerbread 2.3 asiaretail rom. to be specific ... 65.1.40.XT910.AsiaRetail.en.03 ...
I rooted with motofail method. But before the update, I used Voodoo OTA root keeper to temp unroot.
So I guess, it shouldn't be a problem.
But I had Bootstrap recovery installed from before to install beats audio files, do you think that created the frozen/deleted bloat?
Thanx a ton man.

Okay ... the issue is solved!!

I followed this ...

. Reroot (If not currently rooted)
2. Get root explorer in the market
3. Uninstall the bootstrap app
4. Go into root explorer to system/bin
5. In top right corner tap r/w
6. Delete the file called hijack
7. Delete logwrapper
8. Rename logwrapper.bin to just logwrapper
9. Reboot and it should be gone. (thanks to Droidforums member Hostility6)"

Finally ... on ICS... :)

Thanks Matt ... :)
