I was running at the gym and the phone fell off the elliptical.  The screen broke behind the gorilla glass.  I can't see anything and it does not vibrate when I touch the screen either (broken digitizer?).

I run a screen lock in case I ever get pulled over and cops want to search my phone and violate my privacy.

Unfortunately when I plug it in, both drives come up for internal and external but I cannot access them because they are locked.  Is there any way to get my data off the internal memory?

Hard reset to allow me access to the drives etc?  ABD shell?

Please help I need to get a new phone, but I have some pictures on this one that I do not want to lose.

Thanks, this might be more complicated than I think though, too bad my PC is locked down at work I would give it a shot.

" Your phone MUST be in AP Fastboot mode.  Try holding volume down and pressing the power button when the phone is off."

So I can do that but have no real way to verify I'm in fast boot mode since I have no screen.  No additional button presses are required right?

Also, would you recommend waiting to upgrade my phone until the 2014 models drop?  Should I just use my insurance to replace the phone?  if not is the Droid Maxx the best Verizon phone?  The specs seem disappointing, but I do love battery life.

If you have the HDMI cable you may be able to plug into an external monitor to see the screen..... But to get into AP Fastboot (without seeing the screen).... From off.... Hold all 3 buttons for a couple seconds.... Hit volume down twice....then volume up..... Will put you in APFastboot :)

As far as recommending a phone...... That's a matter of personal preference entirely....:)

I second this ^

The HDMI cable can be found for cheap $$$. If the digitizer is broken(touch input not working), you could try to use a desk dock with the USB ports on the back.

Thanks that sounds like the ticket.  I bet they want my old phone if I try to replace it under insurance though...  Not sure just how long I can wait for a new phone, I NEED my phone.

You *could* swap internals with the replacement they send you, lol. Not sure what they would do when they get their "new" phone back with a broken screen, LOL.

Edit: please don't. Just joking

That is if they sent the and phone as a replacement. They seem to be about 50/50 on that lately.

I opted for the replacement but didn't get home before 8:00 last night, so I wont have it until it tomorrow night. Although I did like the Droid Maxx, the tech is too old to spend that much and tie myself into a 2 year contract.  Seems all the companies keep removing all the things that made their phones great, removable batteries, SD card slot, dedicated camera button etc :(

Not sure if I should order a dock off amazon or try to get into the boot loader timing button presses.  It should be easier to time if I get the same phone tomorrow.
