Best Answer johnthehillbilly , 29 January 2014 - 11:14 AM

And make sure you are unplugged from charger or PC ...... Or you may never get into the boot menu.....

Was running RAGE 2.3, flashing RAGE 2.5.  Followed the instructions

Boot into Recovery (TWRP or CWM)
MOUNT SYSTEM
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Wipe System
Install ragehd.zip

Then got error while trying to flash (can not open some file in the RAGE 2.5 ZIP)

Phone stuck on RAGE boot logo.   Now I can't boot into fastboot or TWRP by (power + vol ▲  + vol  ▼)

Thanks

What happens, EXACTLY, when you power off, hold vol up + down, and press power?

Goes back to the RAGE logo.

Computer doesn't recognize it either.

I'd say you have a problem with your volume buttons if that's the case.  Are you SURE it's powering off completely before you attempt to power it back on?  Or is it just turning the display off?  If it's really turning off and not going to the menu when you hold the two volume buttons, then it's a good bet the buttons aren't working physically.

That must be the case.  When holding all 3 down, the display goes out and then comes right back to the LOGO.  I'll keep trying.

Very odd.  What happens if you hold power and volume up for about a minute or so?

The display goes out?...... Are you sure you are completely OFF prior to holding all 3 buttons?

After trying many times, finally shut down.  Then when trying to boot into fastboot, I get the LOGO again.  So I must have a problem with the vol down button.   Thanks for your reply.

I thought holding all 3 buttons was to turn the phone completely OFF.  Is that not right?

No..... Holding power and volume down for a few seconds simulated a battery pull...... You can do that, then immediately hold the volume up as well as soon as it flashes off....... Should bring up the "boot menu"..... It can be kinda triicky ,You may not get it on the first try ....... "No more training do you require...... already know you, that which you need...."
