My brothers Droid Razr Maxx HD randomly shut off and now boots into fast boot with a flash failed error. We have searched for hours attempting to find a solution to the issue. Please, do not suggest Matt's utility as it does not work and gives a partition name not recognized error. We have been unable to flash anything to the device thus far and have tried multiple possible solutions but none seem to work. Any help would be appreciated and if you need any information I'll do my best to provide it for you, however, I don't know what you may or may not need at the moment. It was running 4.1.2 and is rooted but the bootloader is not unlocked.

Search for the House of moto and read fully several times before installing and using it. Since you have no real idea of what version was on it (4.1.2....yea I know... And there's 4 different builds of 4.1.2 so that version number is useless) use the very latest FXZ with the house of moto.

Well, he was finally able to get it flashed. After several hours of searching we found the proper version for his phone. However, I did notice that the community for this phone isn't the greatest and its nigh impossible to find any fixes to the issues encountered. The majority of the time the response seemed to be use Matt's utility for nearly every issue we found. Thank you for your response, however, I should point out you came off seeming condescending as the information that you said wasn't present in my post could've easily been retrieved. By the way, for anyone else who encounters this and is having the same general error, the fix was to have the phone charged and to flash your phone with the exact version it needs.

Actually there really was nothing condescending in his post....he was reminding that 4.1.2 is not in fact a system version..... As like he pointed out there are 4 separate versions of 4.1.2 ..... :) .... Its very helpful to know the exact build (system version) because there are different "things" that can/need to be done based on the different version(s)

Anyway..... The main thing is I believe your phone is back up and running properly??.... And that's always great news!!!

Please understand we get the same questions over and over. As our hobby here we enjoy sharing our knowledge and helping those who don't fully understand. However we want to "help" others not do it for them. Not post 15 times giving them step by step instructions on how to unzip a file.

It gets frustrating. We all learned by reading reading and then reading some more but time and time again people want us to do it for them without reading the answer that may be 3 post above their post.

I'm sorry if this post comes negative but if you read up on your issue, try a few things and give us a much info as possible we will gladly bend over backwards to help you fix your phone

actually, what samuri posted was the exact fix, given the knowledge that flashing the same or newer software will work. only older versions will fail. also, flashing with a full charge goes without being said.
