We are unable to load custom kernels because of the locked bootloader... thanks to Moto and Verizon. I will do some research and find out if this is possible without a custom kernel. I too would like a way to set a solid led notification! Edit: Just looked at a post about them getting that kernel running...

I'm not sure what you mean about solid LED?

This^^^ Basically, the light turns on solid, and doesn't turn off. I like to have it on solid so I can glance at my phone quicker, instead of glancing and waiting a second or two. It seems silly, but when you get used to it being that way, it is very convenient. If you have custom colors for apps set (like CM7 could do) it is incredibly useful (double so if it rotates through them all instead of showing the most recent one). One thats not blinking? the light at the top of the phone near Motorola?

I don't think that's a kernel level request. I'm sure there's ways to do that without a custom kernel

I looked into this thinking Tasker should be able to solve your problem. No dice. It only allows flashing led and seems that no matter the set duration, it's always the same. Must be some background setting or control. It also only allows led when the screen is off. I'll keep at it and see what I can find.
