At the beggining I'd like to sorry for my english :)

I'm a big fan of Motorola devices (had Defy, Atrix, Razr, Razr I). Recently I've bought Motorola Droid Maxx HD.

It has 4.1.2 9.30.1 Stock Verizon software which is quite annoying.

I'd like to install some custom rom - for example Batakang which seems to be fine.

Unfortunatelly I'm unable to run Recovery mode - my Motorola just stuck on the screen with following image:

android-recovery-mode.jpg\

Only things I can do then are:

- reboot device using power + vol up + vol down

- wait about 1-2 minutes and device reboots automaticly.

Please could someone advice what should I do to have recovery running properly?

Regards

Ralf.

From the description and the picture it looks like you are running Stock recovery. Good news and bad new. Good news is that you can still use Safestrap recovery to run Stock base developed ROMs as long as you are rooted. Grab the Safestrap apk and install that recovery program and use that. The bad news is that you have a locked bootloader and cannot replace the stock recovery with a custom one, and also cannot load up any source built firmware since they require the bootloader to be unlocked. Hopefully we get some support for a Kexec kernel development again and are able to build source firmware for locked bootloaders again, but for right now I would just stick with the Stock base ROMs.

In that screen, hold volume down and tap volume up to get into recovery. Also, if the 925, you can unlock your boot loader through Moto's website.

Which rom would you advice for me? I'd like to have clean rom optimized for battery lifetime.

Well since no phone is the same and no same person uses there phone the same way. The only advise I can say is create a minimum ROM slot and test the waters out on the different ones that are available to you. Below is the links to the ones that I have used and run really nice on my device.

and that looks like the only choices I see unless someone is able to Unlock the bootloader with the latest update..
