i have a razr m xt907 on 98.18.94. i was following directions on cyanogenmod to install this, thinking my phone was capable of being upgraded. i got as far as to download a package called motopocalypse and ran the run.bat script that it comes with. after doing more reading after failing to flash the device with clockworkrecovery (it wouldnt take) my phone now boots to fastboot and gives a device is locked status cose 0. and fastboot reason: flash failure.
if i hold down both volume buttons and the power to reboot it i can get to a menu of options, and select normal the phone boots normal. is there a way i can get my phone back to normal to skip this step when i reboot it?
the reson i was trying to flash my phone, was that the phone was acting sluggish and had some other quirks, so i needed to do a factory reset anyway, my thinking was in the process i would move to something that didnt have the verizon bloatware on it, but now i just want to get it back to some sort of normal. i tried to tell it to do a factory reset from the privacy menu on my phone once i got it to boot up, but it just makes boots back up without doing a reset, after going through the process above.
can someone point me to some documentation on either how to just repair my phone so i can do a normal factory reset and be done with it, or suggest a different method to move to a less bloated version of android? my primary objective is a smooth running stable phone, with little extras. i use my phone for work and i rely on it a lot every day. i have been reading around on the forums, and some of the wording is a little foreign to me, since i am new to working with my phone in this manner, my only previous experience is installing cyanogenmod on a xoom tablet.
thanks for any help/suggestions
let me know if there is any useful info i have left out of my description.
i posted this in the general forum before i noticed this one, and would delete that one if i could
