Right. You can't flash firmware older than what is on your device. Get the proper file and go again.

So I was charging my phone overnight and when I woke up to check my notifications, i noticed the notifciation bar on top was missing (Where the battery symbol and time is located) so i turned off my phone and turned it on again. and for the last 8 hours its been permanently stuck on the droid eye.  I tried hard reset, soft resets, wiping my cache partition, checking fastboot.  I really dont want to reset it to factory settings....any help? please? Im downloading matt's utility still and am not sure if it will help yet

OK, did you download the fxz from the SBF site and flash it with the House of Moto or RSD ?  If so, did you download the system version that you were on or newer?  Did you get errors when you did?  What were they?  Need some more specific information.

Fastboot Reason: Flash Failure

preflash validation failed

i just cam back from verizon and they said its in "Incomplete wakeup" i dont know if he's just being incompetent or just trying the easy way to get me to replace it....any help would be greatly appreciated and youd have my eternal gratitude

I just did this with the help of this forum today. I'll try and explain it the way it makes the most sense to me.

1. Download this utility

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

2. Unzip the utility into a folder onto your desktop. Open the folder and open the WindowsUtility

3. Get phone into fastboot mode by holding power, volume up and volume down. A screen will appear and using only the volume down button to scroll highlight the AP fastboot line. If you miss it keep hitting down until you pull a pacman and come back around. Why? because volume up selects it. Once you have AP fastboot selected hit volume up.

4. Your screen should now be black with some text saying battery ok, USB dis/connected. This is where you want to be.

5. Plug phone into computer.

6. Go to the utility and hit any key.

7. The screen text should go from yellow to teal. Once you are on the teal screen hit 1 then enter.

8. Wait.

9. Once it tells you it is done unplug it and it should reboot. The first time i unplugged and rebooted my phone it looped and then i just restarted it normally (power and volume down held at the same time) and then it booted up just fine and all is well.

Disclaimer: You said you had stuff you wanted to keep on your phone and that is way out of my league. As far as I know this utility will wipe everything and reset it back to default.

Edit: I hope this helps, it helped me but then again i am literally just putting together all the information people gave me into what i hope is a helpful guide.
