This is not based off KEXEC, it is based of Dhackers CM10 so no camera, 3G & 4G sometimes but 1X works 100% this is something I put together to play with and give you a preview of what this rom will be till CM10 KEXEC is released then I will update it to the latest build with more mods and all the goods. I'm just getting in from work, I'm going to grab a quick snack and i'll have links up soon. Sorry if I got any hopes up but this is just something till we get a KEXEC release.

Downloaded and flashed. Nice boot animation. I was unable to get any kind of data. If I could have gotten data (even 1x)...I might have tried this longer. But switching back to my current daily drive.

Downloaded and flashed, I was able to get data easily. Awesome rom! I did a antutu benchmark for $!#7s and giggles and I got a 7230 .-. That's the highest I've ever gotten lol I'm gonna be using this as a daily driver for sure.

How did you get data?

All I did was set it to the long option in "Mobile Network" and rebooted. I let it sit for about a good 10m. when you get to the lockscreen, Unlock it and just leave it, touch the screen everynow and then because you should be watching the signal bars. The signal bars will change to the gsm only look for a little bit and then change back. Thats what happened to me I dont know if it will work but you can always try. ill post better instructions when I get out of school.

Its loading a custom kernel over the stock kernel using a mechanism in the linux kernel, and that mechanism is Kexec.
It basically just allows to have custom kernels.

Yes it is. Hopefully once hashcode/dhacker gets CM10 Kexec up and running then we'll start to see some more awesome customized ROMs coming out.

Let me say first that i appreciate all the work that the devs do here working on new roms etc, but i have to ask a question. Why are there so many roms based of a rom that doesnt fully work? I see skins and keyboards etc etc, but none of it really matters as its still on a rom that is unable to be a daily driver until its fixed. I'm not trying to be condescending or rude, im just curious as to why so much effort is put into modifying a rom that isnt fully functional instead of applying that effort to making the rom fully working? This is pure curiosity, i mean is it because reskinning things etc is just much easier to do than fixing the issues? Im not a programmer or a rom builder so i may not be understanding something.

He can apply his themes, customization, mods, and graphics over to a functioning cm10 when it comes down. But he will be ready to go now instead of building all of it when Sts Dev Team releases it. It's kinda like fixing up your hot rod while your waiting for your engine to be delivered from the shop.

Oh and skinning things are way easier. We mainly have 2 developers that alter the software to work with an Android build and our hardware... And we wait for them to release bases that we either can compile or rip apart and customize.

We have a big community but that essentially is how things are done around here.
